SHIET HAPPENS in SoCAl COPS =FAIL
A cop saw my car in my drive way and pulled into my street. He would probably give me a ticket if he had any reasons. I get complaints all the time though people saying I'm burning out and reving my ****. but it's all the bitch *** "ricers" on my street when they see me working on my car they feel the need to peel out or rev or something. It's not even civics it's ******* F150s and mustangs doing this. I respect american cars just most of the time the drivers are ****** just like profiling police and parents.
Also I saw a miata being towed on the freeway and the rear tire popped and it took a mile for the tow truck driver to notice then after he pulled over and looked at it he just got back in his truck and kept driving. sparks shooting up and **** from the rim

My favorite was when a tow truck driver tried to charge me for a 25 mile tow from Diamond Bar to Hacienda Heights. It's 8 miles and I was following him in my wifes car unknown to him.
kool....maybe we can attend a meet together sometime (after everything works out for you of course).
Good Luck!
Sorry to hear about all the crap man. I use to get harassed by cops all the time with my S13. Fortunately they never asked to pop the hood. I'm not looking forward to the harrassment I know I'll get once the FD is going again(new problem is bad fuel pump
). Good luck with the small claim's court. Hit them with everything you have.California's only going to get worse since it's 15 billion dollars in the hole budget wise. They're going to try and hit us with as many tickets/tows/taxes as they can to pay for their welfare system.
Car enthusiasts are screwed here.
I think Dom was the name of Vin Diesel's character from F&F.

If they ask you to pop your hood you have the right to decline. Opening your hood constitutes a search of your property, similar to the cops coming to your door and asking "can we check inside your house?" Unless they have a warrant (or they have already placed you under arrest) you have every legal right to refuse.

How does the "Implied Consent Law" come into play in a situation like this.
Fu??

Well don't be rude about it, just say "no thanks, Officer." or something. Its one thing if they see something (a gun, a bag of weed, etc) sitting on the floor of your car in plain sight, but under the hood/in the trunk is different.

Cliff notes to the story:
The tow company was a Auto Club (not AAA) referal where they charged my VISA and then I submitted for refund up the the maximum the program allowed. What they charged exceeded the maximum. The tow bill presented the pick up and drop off address, so easy to Mapquest the actual mileage.
So I went to the owner of the Tow Company and simply asked which they'd rather do. Refund the the excess they charged me or discuss with the Auto Club why their billing mileage exceeded an easily available mileage estimate by so much.
I left with refund of the TOTAL bill.
I'll also mention that this particular Tow company is a popular referal by the Chino Police being located only a couple blocks from the Chino Civic Center. From my personal experience with the Chino Police department, I have no doubt this sort of things isn't/wasn't uncommon and that some % of such excess mileage collections finds/found it's way into specific Chino Police pockets (especially believable to Corporal Mc"*******" who certainly isn't afraid to abuse the system).

they can look under the hood if they have probable cause. that is a big thing that always pops up in fights. "it's lowered I have probable cause to believe this is a modified car."
Descrimination sucks ***, good luck on the fight!
I daily my car too, and park on the street in front of my house, along with all my neighbors. I wake up in the morning to go to work, look out the window and see the orange sticker, the police solely marked my car with a notice saying my car will be immediately towed! I was parked in between two cars! So I run out in my boxers and park it in the back. Take my shower, look outside to see a cop and a towtruck all confused! I couldn't believe they were gonna tow my ****... for no reason! How can they even tow it when I'm parellel parked between two cars? Lets just say I waited a couple weeks before parking out front!

To me it always amounted to what do I have more of Time or Money, and then I either pay or fight. On the last one with my redlight ticket I should have just gone with Pay, since it took days out of my schedule.. which was way more expensive then the ticket.... But you couldn't tell who was driving, and I know I wasn't driving my Jeep... so I asked, and nobody fessed.... so I fought.... even the officer couldn't see the face, and just handed me the ticket back and said the state would like to dismiss all charges !.... 3 days and $380 later.... which I got the $$ back 2 Months later... I want interest Mother f'ers !!!!! Yeah Right ! But if I don't pay my parking bills within 14 days... I get all kinds of fines....
The (Serve) of Serve and Protect went out the window a long time ago... it's server yourself to as much $$ as you can and protect your own *** while doing so.
I know there are a lot of good cops that fail to get recognition, like Fuman, and others... but like in all things incl. ricers, it only takes a couple of bad apples to spoil the bunch.
