Sevenstock was the coolness, thanks guys!
Mega thanks to the volunteers, and all of the crap you had to put up with. I know it takes a lot of effort from many people to make something like this happen. Good job. Only problem I had was the price of the food, paid almost 8 bux for a kids sized pollo bowl lol.

Yeah, definitely a few growing pains on the new venue. Mostly getting in and out. Folks running the gate had no idea where to send vendors and we got caught up in a non-moving line for almost half an hour. Also heard from several of the folks who were supposed to in the "inside area" and weren't let in and/or directed to the wrong line so by the time they were through it was too late.
I'm torn whether the "inside area" is a good idea or not. It's definitely exclusive, still I think I preferred having the organizers pass out passes the morning of based on who actually showed not just the pictures they submitted in advance. Maybe you could do a blend of the two (does make the 1/4 tank of gas harder to enforce though). I did like having a variety of areas to walk around and things to check out.
We were right next to Atkin's (sp?) rotary and I though a live rotary build demo was a great idea. Food for thought for other vendors in the future that's for sure. The show itself was at least as much fun as any SS I've been to, maybe even the best yet. I know the herculian effort it takes to pull off an event this large so massive thank you's to Bern, Andy and all who helped.
FWIW I liked having it slightly later in the year as the weather was much nicer than several past events.

It was my 1st time and was def a good time. I wish you guys have more spots for cars cuz apparently capacity was a lil over 300. There were a whole lot of rx7's in the parking lot that got turned away that were super nice. We had a lil mini car show in the parking lot before the gates opened lol.

As an annual volunteer, I've almost never seen any cars show up before typical 6AM volunteer arrival time. This year I arrived at 6AM sharp, and there were already 20+ cars in line. 6:15 the line was backed up past the entry gates. This year was definitely a last one at the dinner table was unfortunately left out.
Side benefit of paying the extra for inside parking, and having a car deemed worthy, was getting to drop off the car the night before. You miss out being an active participant in the "pre-party" staging (almost as fun as the show itself), but did allow for avoiding a measure of the first-time-venue growing pains.
By the way, I'm not sure many realize that Bernie and the key organizers got maybe 3 hours sleep what with all the goings on. These guys sacrific a lot to make this happen, so extra appreciation/props to the boys.

A good lesson here is that, the RX8 guys are prompt and organized. If you want space get to the venue EARLY.
Mike and I rolled in at 5:45 to about nine other cars. At 6 am sharp I think about 20-30 cars rolled in from the Rx8 caravan. I don't understand why they can roll up before time and people are complaining about not being allowed in late? We got a big brother with bigger numbers. I think people do not realize how big that scene has become, and it makes our scene in total super huge!

Since then the 8 numbers have steadily climbed and it was quite a sight watching 68 RX-8's following me down the 10 freeway to the Fairplex.

our little community has grown quite a bit over the years and even though there are still times of the "us" and "them", when we all get together, it's one HELL of a turnout.
Thanks again to all who made it out on Saturday, definitely great times.
I also thought it was funny that for the photo shot of the billboard contest, the only people turning in legit photos were from the Rx8 board. everybody here was photochopping jokesters. :p
Fisa you are right, I led the San Diego crew up we had about 15 cars. We met at our spot at 4am and left early to make it before everyone just in case.
Over all thanks Berny for everything and we should talk about some Ideas I have for next years.
OHH one last thing a public apoligy for you bro for saving the parking spots for me. With the mix up and vendor booth, your phone and mines blowing up I should of left a text message instead.
