Sevenstock 14 discussion thread ----no pics please use the other thread.

This thread is for discussing only. I will move everyone's post from the picture thread to here so we can keep pictures only on the other thread.
Please keep it friendly I am only doing this because I and other would like to see peoples pictures of the event.

Thought it was fantastic. Wish I had more time to chop it up with everyone I've known for awhile.

Bern and the 7stock volunteers did a great job holding it down!

are there any pics of the 8 (6???) FDs in the middle of the inside area...all together? That would be a sweet shot. Next year someone needs to bring a ladder.

I liked the show. It really sucks that the venue was so small, but I understand that Mazda HQ wasn't available. But on the plus side most the cars in the venue were clean or actual race cars, whereas at past SevenStocks there were tons of crappy looking cars. I'm kind of disappointed in the food. Past SevenStocks had amazing food that I wouldn't have a problem overpaying for. This SevenStock had some horrible and horribly overpriced food. I also wish there were more vendors, but I understand in the current economy that can be difficult. It also kind of sucked that like right at 3 we were asked to leave. Past SevenStocks we could bullshit for a while after and slowly trickle out rather than have Fairplex staff walk up to us and ask us to leave.

All in all I'm happy there was a SevenStock though. Got to meet up with a ton of friends down in Socal

to Bern & Andy:

Is there any way I could Sign some kind of petition to show Mazda my interest at having the event at their HQ like the previous years. I'm sure we could get Hundreds of thousands of people to sign it. Maybe with enough interest, Mazda will allow us back at their place.

Just a thought...

Also wanted to chime in on one thing. I didn't exactly trust the peeps coming in with 100 dollar bills at the entry gate. If SS is going to have to charge for entry again, I would very much like to NOT accept bills larger than 20. Has anyone verified whether those bills were good yet?

All things considered,

-I thought it was great.
-Plenty of every generation of car/truck/motorcycle/dune buggy was represented.
-I'm sure the guys with the nice rides were stoked having an indoor display area. It's great for picture taking (and getting some shade!).
-Food was insanely expensive for the portions, just like going to a sporting event I guess.
-I thought it was a nice change of pace to have the varied parking arrangement outside.
-I was literally the first car in line to prepare for staging and I wasn't in the display area until 10AM. That kinda sucked I was expecting the delay anyway.
-I felt sorry for the spectators having to wait for us to park!
-The security douches at the end of the day were a laugh. Telling people to move their car when 50 more are in front lol.
-Would have been nice to know of the other event going in the area that morning (some kind of test/class? wth, didn't get the scoop on that) b/c there was a shitload of traffic and I thought "there's no way all these guys are here for 7stock".
-Was nice to have a proper bathroom instead of an outhouse
-Was really stoked to see the Mazda IMSA cars. the 792P is just badass.
-Was very disappointed regarding the "don't start your car/engine" thing.... at least the race cars lit up.
-One of these days it would be awesome to have an autocross or open track day, kind of like mazfest.
-Or have the little RC cars racing, something else to check out/do that is dynamic (not just cars parked).

There's other crap floating around in my head if I can remember I'll try to post. Great job again guys, amazing you pulled it off in short amount of time. BTW I bought another one of last years shirts to support the cause
