Security! (Car Alarm)
I started to shop around for a car alarm, since FDs aren't really low profile cars. On Thursday night I had to park my car outside the apartment complex, and the guard told me that some guys stopped right next to my car and took some quick pictures and boned out. Now i'm really worried. So I want to know if anyone knows of a good alarm system that would work out?
My original plan is to get this :
http://www.drdetailshop.com/V791XV.htm
Plus, maybe a quick release hub & lock for the car as well? I might get both, as nothing can be too safe for my FD! Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

thats a nice one, you could shop for clifford also. thats a good company also.vipers tend to be sensitive to people touching it but atleast you know they won't touch it and you could run out and get them

I have that same viper alarm on a 2001 mustang gt. It's a great alarm. The only problem I've had with it likes to drain batteries. I usually have to put a new energizer in that thing every month!

I have the same one in my fd. Viper, clifford, and about 8 other companies are all made by the same people, DEI. The 791xv is a great alarm, but alarms are really useless unless you have a quality installer. Make sure your installer conforms the wires to make it look stock, otherwise the alarm can be easily bypassed. Also try to have the main module installed possibly behind the gauge cluster or in the armrest console area between the carpet. Also look into a battery backup and an interior siren. remember MOST installers (including people like bestbuy, circuit city, etc) will install the alarm where it is the easiest for them to put everything, which is also where the theives know where it is. With cars like ours it does stick out, and you will have people take pictures alot, so try to invest a good amount into your alarm, as it is pretty easy to break into a fd.

He who smokes bitches
code alarms from circuit city are great. when i had mine, it was good at detecting if my car was bumped or hit, but never once went off from wind, loud exhaust in parking structures, loud subs, etc.
