My turbo 2 will not start. I am at the end of my patience and mechanical abilities and just want someone who is experienced to come and figure out whats up.
I'll pay $25/hr in cash for your help, maximum of 8 hours, if you can get it started. If you come and tinker and the car still doesnt start, i'll give you $20 gas and lunch money.
I have most tools you will need, creepers, floor jacks, and a good covered garage working space. I am free weekends, tuesdays and thursdays.
Car is in east El Cajon.
Info:
87 T2
Recently installed S4 replacement JDM engine from cosmo
otherwise stock engine
Engine had good compression before I installed it.
After install, car started and ran roughly but would not sustain idle... realized intake mani gasket was leaking, made a new one and installed. Had to wait a few weeks before I was able to get back and try again due to school and work.
Now, when I crank it, the engine cranks but there is nothing going on, car doesn't try to fire. Pulled plugs and checked fuel/spark, seems OK, thought it was flooded, tried the EGI fuse pull trick, didnt work.
ECU is good, i recently replaced it.
Spark plugs were oily but I dont suspect they were fouled.
I haven't investigated electronics fully, but like I said the car started up and ran for a little bit before I pulled the intake to replace the gasket.
If you are interested, please email me shawlawrence@gmail.com as I check it more than the forums, and I will get back to you.
If you are feeling generous and want to volunteer your help I will buy a 12-pack of your choice and lunch and we can figure this out.
Obviously I need someone who is experienced, I have enough experience tinkering around with these things myself, I don't want another amateur in here

This happened to me once. I bought a Repu that just kept cranking so the guy sold it for $500. The problem was a bad fuel pump. Check the fuel pressure to make sure it's good. Most of the time it's electrical. Check the distributor, coils, ECU, spark plug wires, etc. Good Luck!!!
Fuel. Check your injectors, make sure they are working AND getting power. Fuel pump, relays, fusees, etc etc.
try new spark plugs. they might not look that bad, but oiled up spark plugs will keep the car from starting... i've run into this problem several times with my car and friends.

Yeah like I said I am at the end of my patience, thankfully I make enough $$ at my job that I can pay someone to work on my car when I don't want to, so that's what I'm looking for right now.
Thanks for the advice though, it is appreciated.
I was thinking of checking the injectors but didn't feel like pulling off the upper intake again.
And the engine definitely cranks fast enough, no need to push start.
I have the feeling the apex seals are sticky from not being flexed enough while the engine was sitting, so it might just be a case of putting in some thick oil and re-trying.
But again, I am looking for someone who wants to make a little extra cash diagnosing my problem.

my car is having similar problems, here's my link: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/blew-eng-inj-fuse-now-car-wont-start-878929/
Hope that helps, its the best i've got.
P.S. Noid lights from Autozone are great to have.
