I recommend that you have everyone kick in $5 plus whatever side dish they were going to bring. Use that money to buy some fresh meat (chicken, beef, etc.) at the Vons there at Liberty Station. Otherwise there's going to be nothing to barbeque, as no one is going to want to pay for enough meat for a dozen people....

Five bucks isn't much compared to the cost of the lunches in the sports grill, so we'd actually be saving money.

You can also bring the lurkers out into this conversation by asking for a headcount of who is coming... only those who say that they are willing to participate (even if it's only to bring money) would have a share of the meat. It may seem a little cold-blooded to do it this way, but otherwise people will try to do the bare minimum, and nothing good will come of that.

I'll bring my $5, plus some dessert (cookies or whatever).

i ordered a FPD today, should haved shipped today or tom, but should have it in and done by friday, I hope or else I don't have a car, unless the wife wants to come, I will let you guys know by friday if I am done and can come since I am bringing the coals and fluid and cooking gear...

the car is torn down now, polishing the top end and TB since I had to rip it down anyway, got alot done today on that.. fun work too

Sorry, but we're looking like some of the guys on another forum. Lots of yaking and no decisions. Takes forever to get action.

The monthly meets ought to be consistent. No one can find you / us as we're jumping all over town. Set up other days for special events. If for some reaseon ya can't make a meet and want to go to the special event, then go fo rit. Missing a monthly meet will not end your world. At least I hope not.

I don't care to see the same waffling that I might at work. San Diego has year 'round beach / BBQ weather. If it does not happen on month, it can happen another. The tsunami didn't hit us, so we're all doing OK.


Sorry for the rant, but it seems like this has been the week for it. Maybe SevenStock was too stressful. Besides, I didn't win any prizes.

I hear what you are saying John, but I can't be rolling with a bad FPD, don't wanna destroy the engine, I don't see any problems, unless I break something putting it back together or they don't get it to me in time...

 

I just picked up from Honey bbq chicken and some meat from 32nd.

 

I will be doing a cake walk in kuwait as a liason for my unit. It was a voluntary thing so will definitely not complain. Next time I deploy I'm hoping for a 3 year accompanied in Japan so I can sell some cool stuff on here for cheap

 

i am supposed to pick my car up from friz at luckey 7 on friday i just have to get a ride up there if i get it on friday i will come by on saturday if you guys come up with a location and i will bring some chips or potatoe salad or something
