I'm game for the alternating Saturday / Sunday every other month. It gives more people a chance to attend for various reasons. I do not feel as if I have to go to a meeting every month, as I may have somthing else going on that weekend. I missed the NOV through JAN meetings, but had gone to everyone for a few years prior to that. I usually posted those announcements up until the last couple of months. We (San Diego RX/RX-7 Club) have been holding meetings for a few years now at Fuddruckers. Prior to that we met at Bennigan's in Mission Valley.
The main thing is consistency. If the announcement gets made, everyone will get a handle after a while. Yea, someone might miss a meeting, but that's not earth-shattering. Just set the dates, hold the place and all will work out. Jim and I talked about this a bit a while back and agreed it was a good idea to give it a shot. Everyone help eath other out and make sure timely posts are made to remind everyone.
In spite of all the comments flying back and forth, the best thing is that there is the interest in getting together. It is interesting to see people getting so worked up over this. Check out some of the other groups that cannot make up their minds from month to month.
We have run drives / cruises over the last few years and some of those have been on Sunday to accommodate others.
Give the alternating Saturday / Sunday a shot. There is nothing preventing anyone from organizing additional activities.
