I changed my mind foo haha I just ordered my block off plate kit from 2715enginneering. 31shipped

but yeah pogi mazdatrix sells the OMP block off plate for ~4$ so if you want a cheap and less hassle fix just do that and learn to premix.

when i start the car.. i dont see any oil going up the omp lines ..even when i rev it theres none whatsoever.. i pulled off the omp and there is oil coming from the front cover, so i know that i didnt block the 1/16" hole on the front cover
I am guessing my omp is dead..
will i still be able to use that omp and tie it off to the side to prevent limp mode..Im just confused cuz I read somewhere that if the electrical part of the omp is working, but not pumping oil, you can still use it to prevent limp mode but just have to premix.

uh. just use a block off plate. like I said 4$ and you just slap some sealant on it and bolt it on. toss your OMP or sell it.

or if you like I can sell you my OMP that was just rebuilt like 2 days ago and all new lines on mine. but thats after I get my plates in the mail and install.

I also have a spare OMP that was pulled off a running engine if you want to try it out. Shoot me a PM and we can set up something.

Edit: did you check the O rings on it?

seriously bro. OMP block off plate is 4$ you can't go wrong and why would you go into limpy lumpia mode if you run premix?

If my s5 electric omp was dead which caused limp mode.. would i have to buy a "GOOD" working omp so that i "WILL NOT" be in limp mode?

You're not in limp mode, due to the OMP anyway.

People wouldn't premix if they knew the OMP was bad, well...because they were in limp mode. There are no signs of a failed OMP, except a blown engine. Hence, people premix to prolong their engine's life. Just rip it off and block it off.

As for being a n00b, everybody has to learn. Even the greats were n00bs too...

Premix is like the replacement for OMP. You premix when you delete your OMP.

Oil Metering Pump = Pump oil into engine. So no Pump oil into engine = requirement of premixing oil to gasoline. Make sense?

The S5 ECU will go into limp mode with the OMP disconnected. The oil injectors are vacuum assisted. Check for vacuum leaks before condemning the OMP and resorting to premixing.
