Question salvaged title question...

well looks like when my fc was hit that is gonna end up a salvaged title. the damage is just the pass door and mirror and fender. now they want to total my car. saying the value of repair costs more than the car. what are the cons about having a salvaged title, and any advice on what i could do now?

Pretty much resale of the car goes down, and im not positive but if another accident happens im sure the insurance company will give you less money, just guessing on that one. I had a 70 240z that got rear ended and they tried the same thing instead i just bitched out the insurance company for 3 months and didnt settle until i got my clear title and the money that equaled the quote from the body shop. Oh i should explain when i got bumped all it did was ruin my bumper and rear valence. THe problem i find with a salvage title is that people just associate such negativity with it like it was sever frame damage or the motor is about to go. I bought a salvaged FD that was theft recovery and it was awesome no problems at all.

yup yup yup, no matter what kinda of work you do on a car with salvage title, that title will remain at the end of the day.

Thanks for the info fellas... I'm still waiting for the adjuster to call me back Monday and we'll see what he says from there. He last told he he understood that i wanted to keep the car. so he is gonna check on a value to see if the extra thing i added on the car will be included I'm guessing.

Ask if you can take off the parts you put into the car or just do it yourself before they scrap the car so if you get another one you can put the parts on it. I did for my miata :<

CA salvaged title question

By the other hand you may have the option to have repair the car on your own and have the insurance company pay you for the damages and you car will still have clean title. As long the car can be repairable and you like your car to keep it.

aww man. that sucks.
i guess you can take what you can get for the car from the insurance and buy another fc. (provided you take off the parts you want from it, right?) i mean if they are gonna scrap it. all they care about is a frame and four tires.

or

you can keep it and stay with the salvaged title and take what you can get from the insurance co and build from there.
