Sac Area meet?
Maybe I can help set something up once my car's back on the road again which will be another ~ month, so maybe set something up in late June.
Definitely +1 with Apex. It's been a little project of mine to unite Bay Area peeps and Sacramento peeps as well. I've got a couple of good locations as well to host these meets as well as working track days into them.
Personally, I prefer to have maybe a few ricer kids so long as they aren't causing trouble to ruin the event due to police involvement. My reasoning is as follows:
They make your and my car look better
They bring in hype, More hype, better outings
They have money, more money... you know why
Everyone went or goes through a ricer stage, as long as we help them mature, they'll get better
I need hands for a future racing team as well as shoppe (I can design and build, but no shoppe yet).
If anyone is wanting to help out with such project, let me know.

Eh, 1 ricer can ruin anything no matter what it is.
If only a ricer can make your car look better your doing it wrong
( just joking, anything with paint can make mine "look" better I guess )The purpose of a nice meet IMO is to have a good time with select like minded people but that can limit the number of people really quick causing a small turn out ( which isn't necessarily a bad thing ). When I setup any of my meet's I usually only invite people I actually know as I have zero patience for rice.
Don't know why they need to bring hype to a meet, I would imagine it only brings out more rice thus creating another typical ricer meet to go with the other couple hundred that are already around.
Never went through a "ricer stage" myself but I've yet to see any ricers mature, at least not anywhere in this part of California.
Hopefully something can be arranged though, hard to get any Rx-7's out to anything as they're usually broken

What type of race team are you wanting to put together?
What things have you designed/built?
True, RX-7s are usually broken. I'm just thinking of something big you know? Granted, yes I don't know how the meets work exactly out here; I'm from back east and been to other meets across the country. Just seems like it needs more organization. Most of the Mazda meets back east usually consisted of a lot of 3s and 6s, but a good population of Miatas, RX-7s of all gens as well as RX-8s. That's just Mazda, there were always a bunch of other cars so more like 60% Mazda, 40% something else. I don't know what it is, but it's like every car category out here never really meld together. It would just be nice to have a nice meet or something with an actual amount of people showing out.
Rice is also one of my most favourite food items. Don't dash the rice now!
Outside of that, my race team would start out with either one of my friends' cart, or my 2nd Gen which is currently being used for autocross. I'd like to up its anti and get it into road and pro class really. As far as the cart is concerned; James and I will be figuring it out whence all our parts are in.
I've designed a couple of aero foils and essentially just made crap that worked. I wish I had the plans of everything I've made some where and actually watched what I was doing before just screwing things up. I do have access to a CNC machine as well as a nice high-end milling machine, press, etc. I'm purchasing more along the way but it would be nice to make money off of our investment if you know what I mean...

Sounds like fun woppe. I always wanted a team that does autocross and road racing but im not rich enough for those, so i only do some mountain run occasionally.
Im down for a next meet if it is on the day that i am off fron work.

Still working on my first one, the '73. It's "finished" enough to drive around for testing purposes

Swap is finished and runs great, took a chance on a craigslist transmission though and don't have a 1st gear and 2nd pops out under load. Damn mustang T5 transmissions are impossible to find in any decent shape lately.
Moving shops again over off power inn and eldercreek right now though so have to wait until the lift's setup again to pull it back out.
The '72 has been stripped and cut in half and is sitting at my parent's place for spare body panels for future use and the series 1 '71 is just a shell also sitting at their place in their barn till I get some time to do something with it.

Some nice cars at the Vacaville meet. Didn't stay long, checked out some nice Miata's. There was a nice white fc, but it was gone before I got a chance to check it out.
