PIAA 1500's fit perfectly in the S4 grill. Very stock looking. Or you can get some PIAA 510's or the like and mount in the brake duct vent as the S5 does. Done both in my S4 and very happy both approach's.

Here you go
I put driving lights where I used to have Fogs (Hella's, same dimensions as PIAA 1500's retangular) to suppliment my high beams, and put fog 510's type in the brake duck following the S5's locational lead.
Take your choice, either work within the body lines of a S4 Bumper.
A third choice, Mazda offered a Fog Light kit specifically for S4's as pictured on my old S4 TII (The Red Rocket, still miss her). Bosch housings can be had off the internet. But the brackets you'll need to get off a parts car. I have a set of brackets somewhere in my box o madness.

Those are the same Bosch Fogs that I had on my TII. Looks like the same mounting set up as well. Hard to argue what some engineer designed into the S4 originally.
hi hozzman, long time no hear, agreed that the set up is similar however the fogs are not bosch units since they are smaller and i mounted them further in by cutting off part of the bumper to give it a flush look so they wouldn't stick out too much, but like you said its by far the best fog light set up on the S4 rx7's since it remains era correct and looks right at home without sacrificing the brake cooling ducts which i find extremely important
kents always got the info haha those are sweet fogs
This is how mine was... got these at autozone i believe. They worked good for he most part but mounting them on the lower portion of the bumper was not the best spot because its very flimsy and would shake more than i would have liked

The Bosch fogs I used in restoring the Red Rocket were smaller than the ones Mazda originally used, look the same size as yours. If the're not the same Bosch's I used, they sure look like they could be.
Also, the factory mounting brackets give a recessed mount to this particular Bosch unit similar to yours. See picture.
Point is, apparently the Mazda engineer that designed the stock set up would probably give you

As to retaining brake duct functionality, thats why I used the size fogs that I did. Certainly allows as much if not more air flow than what the S5 ducts allow with the stock fogs.
Side note, formum member BJBubble (Blake) is now the proud owner of The Red Rocket. So perhaps he can provide more pictures and details of this fog light set up
Damn. While I had the hole front end apart, I meant to take pics of them mounted for another thread about S4 fogs but totally forgot. Here's some pictures of the fogs themselves with brackets as they currently aren't on the car.

And man was the car lookin good in those photos...........seems like I've done more bad to it then good since I've owned it
