RX7 FD3S guru mentor/teacher wanted!
Ok this seems ridiculous but I'm not sure how else to do this. First off a little something about my car. 94 FD3S R2, silverstone 80K on chassis, less than 5K on rebuild. It has been in the garage for two years. It runs great but has never passed smog. Therefore, it does not get driven much. The engine was built by Ricks rotary performance and runs like a dream. I also have many tasty mods: 3mm seals, ACT clutch, lightweight flywheel, RE V-mount IC, Apexi twin power ignition, Apexi power FC and controller, 850/1200cc injectors, street port, Fluodyne big radiator, RE intake, M2 3" downpipe, free flow cat, racing beat catback, PC680 racing battery, GAB super R shocks, Eibach springs, RE trailing arms and toe links, RE engine torque brace. The exterior is fairly stock but I do have a 99 OEM front end in a box ready to go on, 99 tails, a new OEM hatch (without the wing), Re amemiya 17" rims. I also have an entire new OEM interior (all the pieces) which have yet to be installed safely/securely stored in boxes.
I obviously have put a lot of time and $$ into this car but the problem is I haven't done any of the work myself and would like to learn how to do this stuff using my car as a learning tool. I've taken some automotive classes (none of which unfortunately address the rotary engine) read quite a few books, am somewhat comfortable with tools, a fairly decent machinist and welder but I don't have the confidence to undertake any major projects on my car. This is where you, RX7 guru comes in! I would like to hire someone who really knows their **** about all aspects of this car to tutor me as we tackle different projects; Some of these include: pulling out the rear and front suspension subframes cleaning them up and modifying them for ultimate performance, converting to single turbo, installing a big brake package, possibly pulling the engine/tranny for further mods and cosmetic restoration, wiring issues etc.... I essentially want you to teach me how to build my dream car. I'm picky, **** (a little OCD), a perfectionist, and a PIA. I'm also smart, funny, honest and a nice person. If you live for FD's and want to help me build a great car this could be a lot of fun. I need a seriously knowledgeable/experienced rotary guy with some spare time on his hands who would like to make a little side cash. I live in SF north bay area. If you are close and are interested PM me.
