Rx7 Fc Help Engine
hi im new to this forum and i need to ask a question, i'm planning to buy a rx7 1990 with turbo from my uncle's friend but the problem is the engine blew, so ANYONE know where do i rebuild engine in california or is it still possible for such a old car and how do you know if the website is legit or not cause i know people rebuild engines but which one is legit your local shop? or actually mazda themselve at the dealer. please help!!! and is there a range of how much it cost?!?!? please reply this always been the car i want
your in for a real treat...rotary engines require special skills...you want a rebuild, having researched this extensively recently, it can run from 1000 to 5000, depending on what you want done. 700 dollars labor is about standard for an engine swap too. I bought a rebuilt engine for 1100 and 700 core charge, a few performance mods, but basically stock for my 88, 89+ is more expensive. I talked to the guys at rx7world.com, ernst, he's real helpful, though the price has jumped a bit since I bought mine. The rotary is not a cheap piece of equipment, getting one for a economical price is a struggle, at the base prices you might as well spring for performance options with your new engine, since it costs nearly as much for a stock engine as for a ported rebuild, and if possible avoid used engines unless you plan on rebuilding it before your install. I'm still new to this, but this is what I have learned.

Lots of places in Cali to get an engine rebuilt. Which one in large part depends on what part of Cali your at.
Myself, the primary place I'd have my engine rebuilt is Rotary Reliability and Racing in Santa Ana (Warner and Harbor).
Finally, since you're new, I'll cut you some slack. But in the future I suggest you use the search button on the top right of the screen for future questions like this.
