You have Rick's Rotary in Pleasanton and Rotary Evolution in Yuba City (45 miles north of Sac) Those are the only two trustworthy shops that I know of in NorCal now that Rotary Extreme is gone. Hope that helps some.

There is no body local anymore in the SR and surrounding area other than Wood Mazda (which I can not say anything good or bad about their service department, but their sales and parts departments are some of the best I have ever dealt with).

But really if you are considering buying something you should know how to work on it yourself. You will want to check out the basics, remove fill plugs and check the fluids (for condition and smell), as well as simple things like spark plug condition will tell you more than most mechanics will.

I know all my basic machanics when it comes to a piston car but I know NOTHING about rotory's so I figured I would have someone that does give it a once over and do a compression test ect, then as time goes on and things break I will expand my knowledge with some hands on experiance.

Rotary engines are pretty easy to deal with...There are still a few extremely proficient shadetree rotary mechanics around...
