I think you could use a piston engine tester too.

I got mine from autozone.

It worked find for me 100psi+ on each rotor.

i've tried with the piston engine tester, they don't work very well.

i've done it once with the piston engine tester but have the pin taken out, i just want to test it again with a rotary compression tester before i do anythig to my car.

thanks a lot!

so when you do the compression test, you leave the valve on the compression tester out, and if i have both leading plugs out at the same time when im doing the compression test, will it still be accurate?

Yes it will still be accurate. If you think it's just flooded take out your plugs and use a lighter on the plugto see if it's flooded with fuel or coolant. If the spark plug doesn't catch ignite it's coolant.

will try to do that!!
i cant bring my car to the dealer.....
actually for the last day i went out, everytime it starts perfect.

ok, here is my situation, i drive a rx8 and my car has the greddy turbo kit. i went on a track day a month ago, water temp got up to 230, ever since that, my car is experience hard start when its hot. My car drives perfect after start, and idle fine, so what could be wrong? Low compression??

my friend did the compression test for me, it reads only 68psi front and 70psi rear, but stock should be around 110psi.

im not sure if something went wrong with the compression test or not!!

I'd be weary on using a typical compression tester on a rotary verses a RE tested. ( Like the one I use at work for the 8's) The RE tested is much more accurate and gives you individual chamber readings, and can also do the front and rear rotor at the same time. That way you don't have RPM variences between rotors that woudl otherwise throw off your readings. I looked up the spec lastnight 85 psi is minimum for the FC's. Oh, at try to get your mesurements at 250 rpms ( On a warm engine if you can manage it. But since you can't then do the best ya can. lol. )
