Norman, the man with the boots. We never had that bbq at sidepex I had posted about
He was a funny guy, friendly and cool to talk to.

Hey Roy, he never let me see under his FD hood at the costco meets. Haha he would close it whenever i would walk towards him, and said we had to race.

Fun times with goofyrotor, RIP

Was SidePex on Las Tunas Blvd, east of Rosemead? On the North side.

omg, this is terrible news. Yes, Sidepex was at Lower Azusa and Rosemead next to the train tracks.

Norman is a good friend and my great FD mechanic for many many years. I always bring him problems I couldn't solve myself. He never lag on any job, did it as soon as possible. Even just doing simple 99spec turbo swap only took him one day and I was able to pick it up the day after I drop'd it off. Very funny guy and talk trash on the forum all the time in the west section. He tries to keep his identity as goofyrotor a secret but i'm sure many people knew.

He had just finished building my motor when he was diagnosed with brain tumor. Did a excellent job street/match porting and assembled it with iannetti ceramic seals which he strongly recommended. It took about a year after his surgery that we decided to tow my FD to his house to finish dropping the motor into the car. After that it took over a year because of his frequent visits to the hospital leaves him only capable to work about 4 to 10 hours a week. Eventually the process took too long and I paid him the total that I owed him and took my car to Glenn Price at Illicit Performance in Palm Springs to finish the car up and running. I am sad but proud to say that my motor was the last one Norman built. He is a great guy and will always be remembered by those that knew him.

Rest In Peace Norman. The rotary community will miss you...
