REPU question...need help putting a price on this truck
1976 REPU. Theft salvage
registered Non-Op
Very straight body, primer spots from previous owner body work.
Interior is kinda beat (torn seats, dirty as hell, sun cracks on dash)
Has great running 13B with street port, RB mani with 48 Webber
No rust and do accidents.
I know absolutely nothing about these trucks except that they are rare and very cool once cleaned up. It looks like a really solid platform for a restoration but what is a good price to pay for it?
It belongs to my brother in law but I dont know what a fair price would be. I think its worth at least 1500?
Below are some pics to get an idea of current condition.

It's a 76 so it'll need to be smogged every other year. Forever. It's rough but I've seen worse. At least the floors are there. I see rust on the frame rail and crossmember. Rust is like an iceberg, you only see what's on top and there's more underneath. But I'd really look under the truck and especially under the bed.
Automatic trans takes away from value and those old Mazda slushboxes blow.
Long block could be a winner or not. $1500 would be generous.

haha well my FC is not gonna be a bolt on type of car anymore but I get what you mean.
The smog thing isn't really an issue. There actually isn't any actual rust, its more like oxidation from sitting in the dirt for so long. I crawled underneath it too and the frame is actually in excellent condition. The tranny will definitely go, I would drop in a FC tranny instead. Still skeptical about dumping money into it but it would be a long process over a span of a year or two.

This is true. FBs and FCs are a dime a dozen. I'm hoping this could turn into a nice investment for a future vacation or something classic but American. As much as I like these trucks, I'm not one for old 70s Japanese cars. My true dream classic is a 67 Lincoln Continental.
old school FTW but the market on domestic and european cars will always be superior to japanese cars. but, one day, the tide will turn as it already happened in NBA....Go Clippers!!!!!!!
