Registering a NON-OP?? Couple of questions
So I registered my seven as NON-OP and am just about ready to get her running again. I just wanted to know what I have to do to get her road legal.
Here are a few details on the car. Its a T2 with a full rebuild and has been on non-op for about 7 months.
I also wanted to know if I'm eligible for a temp registration for the break in period making it legal to drive around. Would I also need to take the car to get tested? As in brakes, lights, etc. by state ref or any other state official. Car is in California.
Does any one have any experience with this?

There is no such thing as a "temporary registration" other than a one-day pass so you can drive it from one facility to another or vice versa.
Registering the car as non-op is for the nooobs. You pay $30 for non-op, then pay the full registration ($57 appx) later on; you just wasted $30 for nothing.

you can get a one month pass...but really you would have to go to dmv a truly source out the information your looking for and see where car stands, and what you need to do to get it back on the street...
no you dont. those darn numbers are only issued for cars that failed smog test.

If you needed a smog when you first PNO'd it, you'll need to smog it to register it.
I'm willing to bet if you PNO'd it on in a year the DMV didn't ask you to do the bi-annual smog, then sure enough when you try to register it later it'll need to be smogged again to stay on schedule.
And....
Call the DMV. Sometimes they do answer the phone and can look up your car.
