Price of a freshly rebuilt 13B?

How much would a 13b engine be worth after a fresh rebuild?

Also just to make it a little more informational how much for the following(freshly reuilt ofcourse):

N/A 13b
Turbo 13b
13brew (FD motor right?)
12a

Just wondering? Thanks guys.

P.S: This is a *technical* thread based on region. (hence the reason i put it in the west section), lets try and keep it on topic and keep the jokes out of here. thanks.

-Steve

**Edit, just for clarification, i'm talking about a drop in motor. Everything that is engine related sans the wiring harness and connectors. Pretty much a direct replacement.**

After doing some research, it seems to me, most rebuilt motors will fetch an asking price of about $1,800(NA) to around $2,500(turbo motor)

Would you guys agree?

it varies and sometimes you can't be guarenteed on the work put into the motor. I think your swap was alot cheaper compared to built TII out there. But you said you bought the parts when they weren't so common. At this point how much do you think you can swap in an ls1 in the fc? But to try and answer the first question, I got a few quotes and a stock rebuild without needing more parts ranges from 1500-3000+. Usually built TII short blocks go for around 1000+, and 13rew could go for $2500 like andrews...
btw. you going to be at autobacs for me to get those lug nuts from you?

Up in my corner of the woods a rebuilt shortblock will set you back $1800 for a S/4 N/A. That's a full rebuild with new apex seals, gaskets, etc. I believe the housings and irons are inspected and are reused if within spec, and if not are just swapped for some other ones that are. I doubt they use new housings/irons at that price. I'm assuming the turbo would be around the same price.

That's the price that was quoted to me from the Mazda recycling yard in Rancho Cordova.

ummm...

well, its about:
$1500-2500 for a stock ls1.
1200-2300 for a T56
$400< mounting kit.
$400 for cooling setup
$100 for fuel setup
$245 for Driveshaft
$100-$150 for harness modification(free if you do it yourself like me)
$500 for misc parts and peices.

so you can get most of the swap componets for under $6000 then you need the rx7. This is the bare bone basics. you still need wider tires and wheels. Turbo II dif (if not starting with a turbo chasis). Then suspension. and if you still have the old one in there, you'll need to replace the front diff mount and add a pinion snubber if you want it to last. I ripped mine in half after 3 days driving with the ls1.

(I have probably about $10,000+ into my whole car. But i bought some things pretty expensively. i paid $4400 for my ls1/T56 alone. Then i bought some things i ended either giving away or couldnt use or had to re-buy. :\ I bought my chasis for $500.

Also my since mine is a GXL, i had to buy the turbo II diff. $160 @ ecology.

it depends what kind of rebuilt, but somewhere around $1500-$2000 with used housings and $3000 and up with brand new housings.
