Hey, just out of curiosity how much did they charge you to respray it? Did they do the disassembling also?

Trying to get an idea of what a "good" paint job will run me by a place recommended on the forum. Not GREAT, but not Maco ether. =P

Looking to simply respray the oe color or possibly a little more flake.

$7k to strip down the exterior and engine bay, matte black engine bay and full exterior/jams paint, they removed everything including windshield and moldings

I told them to not remove the rear bumper because there's a stripped bolt under there and it would just be a hassle, the car is getting a new windshield and then cut and buffed in a couple weeks after I get the LS1 swap in

it's dried overspray from years of painting, it doesn't matter at all because the most important thing is they change their filters every 3 months and my paint job came out flawless, almost all body shops I've seen have had "filthy" booths

research Franklin Autobody and their new shop 515 Autobody and you'll see that they do many show winning paint jobs

this pic is straight out of the booth, no polish or buffing yet, very little orange peel already

Looks really nice Automation! Nice color choice. 7k is steep but it'll be worth it!

Did they paint the hatch separately?

yeah the hatch, front end, mirrors, and all the little things were painted off the car

the price included all body work, removal of all trims and accessories, brand new front and rear windshield with moldings, stripping the engine bay components out and reinstalling those (electronics, wiring harness, abs, brake booster, etc), smoking the tail lights, and of course the full paint job with cut and buff

7k is a really good price for what looks to be a full color change.

My paint job was right around that price but it wasn't a color change. I went to William's Autobody in San Mateo.
