Avoid the whole problem - - do a vertical stack straight up thru the hood.

I've seen various muffler shops throw out the rubber hangers and just weld the exhaust directly to the metal hooks; however, I wouldn't recommend that for reasons already mentioned. Best thing is to get new rubber hangers. As for taking them off and putting the new ones on, it's VERY easy if you spray them with WD-40.

replaced the rubber hangers for metal straps











left muffler was dangling slightly lower then the opposite muffler before i did this....looks much better now and there is no extra vibration and noise either

Easy: Lower your bumper with some spacers. We used to do this back in Japan when I worked at the Doc's shop

Find some smaller hangars. Either ask some guys at a muffler shop or ask what an auto parts store has in stock and compare for yourself.

I had to zip tie my exhaust on after someone hacked off my cat and cut my hangers. Lol Buy some new rubbers!
