Exclamation Please help in Pasadena

I had a bad coolant seal in my original block. Picked up a used one from a local shop that was said to be running. Popped it in only to find it has no compression on the rear rotor. Took it back to the shop and got another one. This one sounded MUCH better when rotating the flywheel. I popped it in and now it wont start. It will turn over and I can tell it wants to start it sounds healthy just not starting. I have gotten it to start 4 different times each one stays on longer and sounds better than the last.

This is the first time I have ever tried to do something like this so I'm kinda a n00b.

Spark is good, wiring is good, fuel is good. There might be a slight vacuum leak on the UIM to LIM.

I can post a video if you need me to.

Call me @626-605-3230

PLEASE HELP!!!! This is my DD an I'm supossed to start my job in San Jose monday so I need it working this weekend!!

Could be a vac leak that's slowly shrinking as gaskets get wet/settle in, could be gummy injectors that are loosening up, could be a few other things. keep working it, and run some injector cleaner through it.

Beyond that, I'm out of my depth with fuel injection.

Is this an FC? If so, check the crank angle sensor. Its possible that the timing is off because the crank angle sensor is off. Check the FSM to see how to align its timing marks. It takes less than 5 mins to do.

I have adjusted the timing. Also I noticed when I start the car the coolant is sucked in. I noticed this because I had to fill the coolant twice and wanted to check for bubbling at the filler cap when started but instead the coolant was sucked in.

I really hope the coolant seal is broken on this engine.

And when it does start it's REALLY REALLY loud. I have a straight pipe so it's always loud but this is ridiculously loud.

When you say coolant is sucked in, you mean if you look inside the radiator you don't see anything? Are you adding coolant/water and it's not leaking? Any smoke out the exhaust?

I opened the filler cap to see if it bubbled when the car was started. I later realized the coolant being sucked down was probably a result of the thermostat opening after I had started it a few times and was starting to warm up. Although I do have to add coolant. No smoke anymore just lots of backfiring and fireballs.

No. I'm thinking its most likely a fuel system problem.

Ok so I figured I'd test the mass air flow sensor. The first two numbers came up fine but the last one i didnt get any number. Also when I pushed the plate all the way back the number did not change.

I then disconnected it then started the car. This time the car started then slowly and steadily the revs climbed to about 5500 then slowly decreased then died.

When I reconnected the air flow sensor it will just die when i dont blip the throttle.

PLEASE HELP!!! I feel like I am almost there! I've been trying to figure this out for almost 3 weeks! I've had to take the bus to work.
