Photographing Rotorfest...

I'm mainly posting this to see the interest in a cd/dvd of the rotorfest event this year. I usually snap a few hundred photos or so, but this year I'm sure the number will be MUCH greater and if the interest is high enough I'm willing to distribute a disc with the photos of the event. I don't have a video camera anymore, but I may be able to get some video using someone elses camera.

The main thing/product on the disc will be the still images that I will take, depending on interest the number of images will vary. Getting prints of specific images may also be an option once again if there is an interest.

Images will of course vary and I'm also willing to shoot individual cars if you'd like.

For those that will obviously wonder I'm using a Nikon D1h camera body (greatest thing for you hands since hand lotion) with various lenses as well as an SB600 flash. Well...I guess I'll just sit back now and wait for replies. Details of the disc and any customization you wish will be discussed after the decision is made. I'm going to shoot regardless of the replies, but wouldn't mind ensuring that others get some good shots and less hassle for themselves.

Thank you,
K

P.S
If you are CERTAIN that you will be interested in a disc please PM me as well as post here to be certain that I know.

The price of the disc would depend on the amount of interest (aka it will obviously be cheaper if there are more people). Either way the price won't be very high in the first place.

As for payment I'd be willing to set it up through paypal (easiest way I can think of and I don't want to take payment at the show w/o giving you the product).

well this is a little far in advance since the next rotor fest probably won't be until next year but just might turn into something even bigger than sevenstock.

Might be better off doing seven stock.. and not to rain on your parade.. but Nikon D1h was a GREAT camera back in 2002.. but it hardly compares to todays cameras. Now the Canon EOS 5D is the greatest thing since hand lotion, specially with some L series lens...

I will be at seven stock if you want to take a look.

Ha...the D1h is hardly a slouch in any way shape or form. There are of course cameras with better resolution nowadays, but that's not everything. I personally love the quality from the images themselves (look MUCH more like film) since they don't look like digital processed images like most everything else nowadays. And I hope you don't think a camera is "bad" when the "next best thing comes out" if that's so then I feel for you...especially since I'm sure at the rate new cameras come out your 5D will be nothing in a few months or two

That's kinda like saying a D2X is nothing because the D2Xs came out, or a 1D is nothing because the 1D Mark II is out or...the FD is nothing because the next RX-7 is out...I hope you don't think like that By the way do you have any work I could look at, I do like that camera, but like many others it's just not quite for what I want to do...just too much extra stuff I don't need.

The 5D is a really nice body though, but I'm not a fan of the handling of every Canon body I've ever used so far. I'd love to try out yours though this October.

Oh yea and for the record, this thread was posted in a different forum and moved over here by accident by one of the moderators. I think they just had a small brain fart and put it over here instead of on the east coast side. None the less I'll be at Sevenstock too

Yeah, I figured you were talking about the East coast event since you said Rotorfest and not Rotary Fest.
