Spotted twice in the last two weeks. Heading Eastbound on Pecos Road last week and today (Sunday) at the intersection of 48th St. and Ray. Young driver who appeared to be sporting an Afro. Seems like the car is new to our area. Anyone here??

I worked around that area (chandler blvd & I-10)! and also noticed the Red fd you speak of. Never saw it while driving my copper fd, but always while driving to dinner and a movie with the wife.

 

I live in the area and have been driving out that way lately to tune the car (vacuum maps so no mach speed runs). But my car is black and I dont have a fro...at least not today

My neighbor had a nice looking Red FD and sold it to some guy in Chandler. I wonder if that is his car. I have also seen a guy in a CYM driving around our neighborhood.

 

We should get together and compare rides. Haven't seen your copper yet. Any pics you can post or PM me?

The CYM may be me. I live in Ahwatukee and have it set up with 18s (powdercoated gunmetal) and an Amemiya-style N1 carbon fiber hood. Sound familiar? Car has been tuned several times by Steve Kan and I know that you're heading to LA next month to have him tune your ride. I'd like to get together with both yourself and FLSGOOD to check out your cars.

 

Well RCCAZ 1 my FD is once again a good looking paperweights. My new motor went out on me about two monts ago with just over 4k on it! Full tank of a 91 octane and VP racing 101 fuel.

I Got on it in 4th gear....felt a strange stutter @ 6500rpm, quickly let off the throttle and coast to the side while my boost gauge needle bounces out of control . Turn off the car and pop the hood.

A fellow "rotorhead" notices me as he passes, get off the highway and comes back around and waits with me until the tow truck shows @ 12am (thanks "Buzz") The Rex started after engine cooled, but idle as disgusting!

After a year of waiting and $18,596.49 w/out price of audio system just parts and labor I'm back to where I started!! the FD is now sitting at the shop that did all of the installs while the engine is back at Pineapple Racing.

I'll keep you posted on the outcome, but may have to sell it due to baby on the way. I'll post some pics up!

Met a guy on Saturday with a White FD, black CF hood and gold wheels. Seems like a nice guy. Works at Checker on Chandler Blvd and 40th Street. Told him about our club (RCCAZ) getting together this coming Saturday night (8/25) at the Scottsdale Pavillions (weather permitting). Hope some of you guys can make it out as well.

 

The owner of that red FD was at the Pavs a few weeks back. Nice guy and new owner. I think he has a PF setup, but I can't remember. We gave him an AZMC card and told him to look at RCCAZ events.

i had no idea there were so many FD owners in the area(ish). i just moved here from michigan, im out in goodyear/avondale now and i drive a black FD with bronze stockers, and i have still yet to see one more FD besides mine

my engine was shipped out tues. from Pineapple Racing and is on its way back to AZ. Thanks to Mr. Golden on the speedy rebuild and if all goes as planned (which it never does) The rex should be back on the road soon but not soon enough.

I'm looking forward to meeting up with everyone! Just not sure if I can make it out this weekend due to work. What time?

I drive an S5 Red Vert. I just moved down from Seattle two weeks ago and my gf work at the Chandler Mall and while I dont sport a fro...I do have long shaggy hair....just letting you know. I live off Priest...so I don't know if it was me.

We have a couple FD owners in the club who live on the West side, however a majority of our members (RCCAZ) on the West side own RX-8s. PM me and I'll add you to our club email list. After returning from Sevenstock in a couple of weeks our calendar starts heating up with club drives and gatherings as the weather start sto cool down.
