Unhappy overheating problem

ok so when i drive on the freeway my temperature goes up past half and then its weird cuz when i drive on the street my temperture is normal, it goes down... then i checked if there air on the radiator so i release the cap while its running there was no pressure at all.... it did not shot up... is that normal? and another weird thing is that i have a koyo radiator. so what should i do... ? i got no pressure and it overheats when i drive on the freeway..

how is your coolant level? sounds like a bad pressure cap

Ok Check you radiator for leaks, also check your water pump and housing, The seals could have gone out and drains the coolant. look for white spill marks around your engine bay and fine the source

oh and also try this

when you are testing your car rev it up to 3k or so for a good min. then check for leaks under the car.
but check the water pump/water housing and thermostat and last the radiator

the only thing i could think of trying is flush your system make sure theres no air in the system. Well either way when you install your new pump youll have to do that anyways.

oh its water or coolant that spilled on your engine thats all but yeah a good flush and new water pump should do it some times a after market radiator could read wrong and throw out coolant in your coolant bay and could make it over fill and spill. and when cooling down the car it sucks it back up. and leaves you with less then you had it

simple, just get a pressure pump to test if your coolant system is holding pressure or not. You will also see where your weak spots are. If pressure holds, throw the new radiator cap out of the garage and step on it.

good idea. a pressure pump isnt very exspensive. Sometimes even new rad caps are bad, happened to my buddy with his supra.

it could be a bad relay sensor on the gauge itself
