i got a 3 bedroom in Orange for 1500/month. I pay 465 plus utilities. So i spend a little over 6k/year on housing, FWIW.

all I know is im already being taxed a **** ton as it is since I fall in the tier 1 bracket. As it stands, my lovely govt tells me that I need to give them even more than what I already do in taxes which is a hefty $2500+/month. And then of course cuts the guys that make less, which in turn makes the guys who put money into the economy or back into the businesses that provide jobs now give it to the govt. and cut jobs or pay anyways for the guy that got the tax cut which now he makes less than he did before the tax cuts. Now we all get to pay for the ones that wanna pop out 16 kids or something crazy like that and the guy who sits on the couch everyday watching tv or doing whatever he wants without working and collects a paycheck made up of all your hard earned cash...G_G but we have been doing that for years so I guess its just more extreme now.
