Open track day, HTM @ Willow Springs, December 1st
Our shop is hosting a track day with some friends at Horsethief Mile, WSIR on December 1st. We're charging $100 per driver, maximum of 30 drivers. "Grip" only. If you're interested, hit me up.
if you were interested in opening it up to drift too i could prolly get you about 10 people undoubtedly. but im pretty sure you dont want anyone getting in the way. HTM is an awesome track. good luck with the turn out
Cool...so far we've got:
1. Misael - '05 Mustang GT
2. Fris - '87 FC
3. Andrew - FD
Drifting is cool, but we wanted to go "grip" only with this event. In January we're gonna host a drift event at the Oval @ WSIR.
Anyone else?

oval's cool but drifters seem to love HTM. if you hold an event there with 100 entry. i can guarantee you massive business. ppl are always looking for HTM events. and for 100 bucks you can't miss that

I agree HTM is prefered by drifters. Hell, I would be down to go if its at HTM.

Hopefully you'll be able to make it in whatever you want to bring.
If you're referring to our event, we set the rules based on some basic guidelines. No cages or rollbars are required unless the car is a convertible and doesn't come with rollover protection from the factory. Basically if you have good tread & brake pads, all your lugs are tight and present, your battery is tied down and positive terminal covered, and you have a good helmet, you can run. All cars need to pass tech inspection at the track, I can supply a tech checklist if anyone would like to see.
We are going to run 3 groups: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. There will be no passing allowed for the beginner group in the morning, and intermediate & advanced will require that you get a "point-by" to pass. If there is a large turnout of beginner drivers, then the groups may change slightly if there's not enough for intermediate and advanced.
With the 3 groups, each group gets 30 minutes of track time per session, with a total of 2 and a half hours.
Also, here's the tech inspection checklist. This is what we will be looking for at the track:
Overall
No fluid leaks
All wires/hoses secured
Throttle return spring tight
Battery properly secured
Battery positive terminal covered (tape ok)
Brake pedal pressure firm
Working brake lights
Wheel bearings tight
Steering tight
All lug nuts present and torqued to spec
SA-95 or newer helmet (motorcycle helmets ok)
If you are running street tires
More than 2/32" of tread
If you are running race tires
No cuts or cording

Sorry I missed your call Ty, I was hanging out with my G/Fs family up in 29 Palms and had shitty reception. I just got home now, I'll give you a ring tomorrow around noon.
There are plenty of spots, and I will reserve one for you.
