omg, i hate it when Non-Car people BS me

I just went to lunch with a co-worker, And i respect this guy. He's a pretty smart dude working in IT. But why do people bullshit me?? Everyone at my work knows my car, and they know me to be "the car guy". So they start telling me about their friends cars and stuff they want. and its just so ludicris.

I remember one time, a co-worker telling me how his buddy dropped a V8 in an RSX. and kept it FWD. Talking about how they had to extend the fenders a foot on each side. Im just standing their, blank expression, saying, "wow... thats cool man...." In my head 'STFU!!!'

I bet this happens a lot with some of us. Its really annoying...

I usually keep quiet about car stuff when meeting new people but then a friend that's with me opens his big mouth and they both start going off I just agree with everything they say.

I heard "+30 offset is so low" and I just started laughing but that was the only time I couldn't really hold it in..

thats what you get for converting to the "darker side" (piston on a rotary car). I say you deserve it.

I always keep quiet about cars when I meet people too. Its always a friend that says, "Jason is a car guy" to them and that gets me into trouble. Then someone's father I just met will start spouting off how hes building a 70's Nova with a Chevelle subframe swap and a such and such cubic inch engine. I tend to interrupt them and tell them as nicely as possible that I'm completely lost and have no idea what they're talking about. I'm sure in the end they label me as a ricer with a muffler on his once beautiful RX-7.

The guy I had lunch with today was telling me how he wanted an 2010 Mustang Cobra (i just found out right now, there is no cobra for 2010) and how he wants to take off the factory SC'er and throw on a vortech, and make like 800hp... LOL

At the time of lunch today, i didnt know there wasnt a 2010 Cobra, I asked why not just put a smaller pulley on it? He responds back with, "is that easier?"

I feel bad for these people sometimes. sort of...
