NSX got stolen yesterday. Caught him!

I have a Black 91 NSX I paid 28K cash for. Luckily I just got full coverage insurance.

I was washing the car in the driveway but left the key's in it. As I went inside the house to grab something and sit down for a few minutes (door wide open) I hear my car coming out of the driveway. As I turned my head to look I just noticed it ram into another parked 99 Jimmy GMC with such force that it bumped the Jimmy into another car that just got out of an autoshop next door to us.

As I ran out to the car I saw the guy get out and run for it. So I jumped over the NSX to the drivers side to grab my push knife and chase the idiot. I ended up catching him about a half mile down the road ( thanks to my low 6 minute mile times When I caught up to him he immediately put his hands up and kept apologizing and telling me his mom is in Jail and he needs money for bail. After seing my knife he was glad to give me his own cell phone to call the police

Since I'm such a nice guy I tried barganing with the police to see if they will go easy on him since it's his 3rd strike while on probation @ only 16. I tried saying that he was just trying to move the car out of the way but ofcourse police officers cannot tell lies pluss I had to tell them what really happned in order for my insurance to cover it. It was my little effort to see what I can do for an idiot.

Idiot #2..So after the thug goes to jail the thugs ghetto *** family comes up to our house and starts claiming that if I sue they will take my car through the court because they have me on tape saying that I let the kid drive away in my car and that I gave him my key's. I was speachless so I just said ok well just have your lawer talk to me if necessary, in the most non threatning way I can. Thats just how I am even though I think it's f-ing stupid for someone to threaten the victim of counter sueing at their house without going through a lawer first. My sister said something to me that the ghetto family member misinterpreted and started threatening her with threats of violence in her ghetto talk that only a monkey could understand. Im like WTF!

Afterwords I come across the autoshop who jus fixed the customers car that got hit in the chain reaction. He tried weazling me out of the price to fix the damage to the bumper as if It was my fault. He was getting pretty upset that I wouldn't pay it in cash after deciding to go through insurance instead. I guess idiot #3 just doesent know how things are suppose to work.

Anyways I had a bad day so I bought and registered a Glock 36 (.45 cal). Awsome CCW gun BTW

Ya It was tough choice between that and the Khal P45. The glock seemed to be more reputable, reliable and easier to take apart and clean. Pluss the police use them to.

Glock 36 is a good gun. I currently have a Sig 239 .40 as my off-duty but want to sell it and get the HK .40 with the double stack.

The guy didn't put on a tough guy act so I just stayed calm and let insurance do the rest. Last time a tough guy grabbed me I stabbed him 5 times with an ankle knife so thats totally different. Also, If I hit the guy he may have tried to run or sue for everything I have.

Cliam adjuster has not came out yet but I imagine it's going to cost over $8000. Rear driver side bumper, tail light, spoiler and quarter panel are busted. You can see a crink at the fender well 2 feet away from the physical damage.

The only hazzle about it is that you will be going back and forth to court due to postponements and stuff. A lawyers trick so you can say **** IT!! I aint going for the 10th time.

Im still going through it and I feel your pain. Lucky me, my boss is a retired cop and my work is only minutes from the court.

Damn Von, I'm very sorry to hear that. I do have to agree though that you are too nice. You were trying to help the kid out? I would've told the cop exactly what happened the first time. I do think that you did the right thing just keeping the kid there and not beating him down. That would've been the worst thing you could've done.

And I like my Sig Pro .40. Though I would like to pick up an H&K .40 or .45 soon. And if I can find a nice used one then I'll buy a .50 DE. But there's no way in hell I'd pay full retail for one. They are a useless gun for everyday life. Just a good show piece if you ask me.

DE's aren't that bad. I've had the opportunity to put some rounds through a .357 DE and it was actually pretty smooth.

It means that they are cool looking and a novelty. But if you have to carry a weapon on a daily basis then this would be completely worthless. It's too big, too heavy, too long of a barrel, and would be far too cumbersome if you got into a situation that required you to use it. A nice normal size to compact semi auto .40 or .45 is perfect for "everyday life." Does that clarify it enough?

Von, sorry about what happened... that's why I don't go out of my way to help someone who will only take advantage of your charity. What did the police report have down as your statement?

Also, is the 36 the Glock .45 round not the .45 ACP? I like the 30. Nice and compact. Although it is a double stack its nicely balanced and not too bulkey

Fu, I love the HK's. I had both the full size and compact .40. I will tell you that as good as they are they tend to be a little bulky. I like the versatility of the HK USPs but like I said they are bulky. now the P9 is a GREAT one if it fits your hand.

I vote for eithe a Glock sub-compact or a good ol' slab sides 1911 commander.

Von,

Sorry to hear about the incident. I wouldn't have bargain with the thief but you did the right thing by not punching his brains out. If you had, I think the situation would have been much worse.
