Yeah Ben I was half kidding. I am very mechanically inclined and about the only thing I take a car in for is tuning or to a local race shop for alignment. All cars need to be worked on, but if he is the kind of person that has to have everything done at a shop I think he would be better off with a stock LS2 over a rotary making equal power 400/400.

The thing I like about the newer LS swaps (WS6 wouldnt count its a gen III LS1) Is the power they make stock. You don't have to push them to make a lot of power. My motor has 400hp and 400pft stock (You can order a 475hp LS3 straight from GM performance.com). I have done a few bolt on's, straight shot intake 1 7/8" primary long tube header but nothing big at this point. But even with heads and a cam I still expect to see very high 20's mpg (27-29 highway)and make around 500 at the wheel. And I still wont be pushing the motor at that point. I have had a LOT of rotory powered FD's and the biggest difference or shock is the down low torque.

If I could have built a NA 4 rotor that made 500whp and 500wtq for around the same price I would have went 4 rotor. But when I priced it out I was getting back crazy prices and the only place really making 4 rotors at the time was the guys in Australia. The price for just the 4 rotor is more than I have in my whole 95 build, including the full LS2 swap, cobra rear end, suspension, wheels and tires, JDM Recaro's and stereo system. I also drive my car a lot and the way cops look at you is completely different with the V8 sound coming out of the car. I have been pulled over so many times simply do to the sound of the rotory exhaust. I run one small muffler on my V8 cars and they barley even look at me. Its like they think that's how it should sound and they don't mess with me at all.

Already saw it, good deal but I still don't have any money. I could buy it though I guess, with a loan.

I have a front iron if your still looking for one. I have had a FD engine in my garage for over a year that I pulled out of a car I flipped. I was told that it had blown up. I never got around to taking it apart until today and all i found was one chipped apex seal. everything else looks to be in good shape.

Let me know if anyone needs anything. The housings have been ported a little. I need to clean everything then I will post up some pics.

Hey guys how much do good condition rotors, housings, irons and e shaft sell for? I have never parted a rotary engine before. I usually sell them all together or if they are really blown make a display out of them. I want to sell them all for a good deal, I'm not out to screw anyone.

haven't taken any pictures of the beast together. Only have pics of the black Viper RT/10 and my red 99 spec. I also have some shots of my black NSX and the FD together, but my camera memory stick got jacked up and is giving me an error that it cannot be uploaded or something like that.

But Jake, dude... I wanna give you a ride in the LS1 FD... if you think our Z06 was fast... heh, wait till you sit behind the wheel of a built LS1 FD. You know I've driven many fast car,..... nothing comes close to this...

i agree with the lack of torque from the rotaries being their main weakpoint, which is why i try to stick to the reason i named my shop what i named it. i should have the twin charger setup done in the next month or 2 on the TII to start seeing how to develop some torque and retain top end with these motors, but i will have to admit that i foresee my gas mileage definitely suffering and i won't be getting the 23-24MPG highway that i was with just the turbo and gutless throttle response at least had to offer.

but who knows, it may wind up retaining current gas mileage characteristics which would mean that a rotary may be possible to develop 400whp/400torque, instant throttle response and have near 25mpg. but i won't make any real claims yet until it possibly is a reality. who at mazda ever thought that it could be done? lol. if it does work out how i hope, then think about V8 power with another 3k RPM of powerband.. if i only had the time to get it all completed to get the bugs worked out sooner, then i could either be disappointed or be surprised that it works.

if it works out how i hope it will i may wind up making a rotary supercharger kit that works in conjunction with a turbo as a compound twin-charger setup.

I personally like the lack of torque...idk just me? I drove my roommates Corvette and powerwise I liked the "feel" of the powerband my Rx7 had better.

god this city is full of douchebags i swear. i miss the old parking lot with endless space to park cars in, here i go to the store for 3 minutes and the 1 of my 2-3 parking spots is filled up from either the body shop or the ricers next door(in this case it was another of the 5 honduhs in the lot that i just counted). keep in mind i don't give a rip unless all of my spots are full and then i get super pissed because NONE of the cars in the lot are mine. most days i sometimes have to park in the fire lane because ALL the spots for the whole building are full from the other shops and i have 0.

i just threw a fit on them and the body shop moved his cars but the shop next door blew me off so i'll remember that. if they want to play games i'll have all my customers park in their spots before my own.

getting sick of people walking on me. yep it's just parking but where does it end? next i'll have my driveway blocked for half an hour or kids hanging out in front of my shop gawking at their v-tec controllers(already happens anyways, among the fast n furious kids who keep talking about turboing their civics for the next "meet").

one kid had them put some 36" exhaust tips on his 350Z, i kept my opinion to myself but i hope he saw me shaking my head at his newfound loss of power and annoying sound at a now detuned performance car.

on my way to and from work i have to dodge the one of 3 random people who cut 4 lanes to take an exit or cut in front of you to get 3 cars ahead.

what the **** is wrong with people?!

only a few of you have had the luxury of seeing me even remotely angry, today i was shaking... sometimes i want one of those clowns to just mouth off to me. i've got years of beat down stored up in me to let loose. you know what they say, watch out for the quiet ones!
