New 87 tII in LA , need help!

Hey i got this 87 tII not long ago but the ****** wont start and from what the last owner said the block has a coolant leak and last time i tried to turn it over oil started leaking from it. Anyone know of a shop or knowlegeable mechanics in the LA/818 area that i can take it to? I cant spend alot of money but i need help for sure.

I want to work on the car myself but my tools and know how is limited. I learn fast though.

Any referances would be greatly apreciated

hmmm there is TRI POINT ENGINEERING @ Canoga Park. But beware that they will charge you alot. Also try ROTARY SHACK in the same vecinity as Tri Point. Robert will hook you up if you tell him you found out about his on this forum. If the previous owner said coolant leak inside the engine then it will need a complete overhaul. You can go the cheaper way if you want to do it yourself and go with a JAPANESE SPEC engines. Try to stay with the same year 13BT. There is a guy on this forum (JAPAN2LA)Brian, who sells JSpec engines here. And the best part is that he is local. 87- 88 Japanese spec engines will run you less than $1,000.. Good luck and hope that helps..

He is a good rotary mechanic, and will not rake you over the coals.

Ask for Gazo
