Need some suggestions
all right i need some suggestions.
been trying to get a s5 TII motor running in the car.
motor history:
was purchased july 05 as a used complete motor from ASAP motors in texas
pull motor apart
replace both housing with cermet coated housings
new oem apex seals and springs, new oem fd corener seals and springs, new oil control rings and o-rings.
replaced front iron with new used front iron
new oem seal and gasket kit
assembled shortblock april 06
try starting motor in vehicle last week, continual crank no start. strong spark, timing is dead nuts on, fuel pressure when viewed with a guag tee'd in is 55psi. front rotor compression numbers: 35, 30, 35 psi. rear rotor compression : 5, 5, 80.
emptied a can of starting fluid down it, it bumps on at least 1 chmaber. tried towing it 1.5miles at 4000 rpm, engine won't hold idle at any speed. engine was warm after tow attempt so there is some combustion taking place.
my guess is that i am not seeing enough compression pverall. front rotor being low worries me but new iron and old side seals could explain that. rear one has me concerned, all three apes seals were visually intact prior to complete engine assembly. stuck side seals possibly?
anyways best price i can get on an OEM reman is 2230, and given how deep i am in on this damn motor right now, it is tempting but not that tempting.
so where should i go from here? i cna have it back out and apart by saturday noon. try and find someone or someplace local to go through the shortblock and try to re-set it up? pay the damn money for the OEM reman? find someone who wants to buy it to part everything out?
i really am not sure where to go from here, other than my pateince for this car is about gone.

the problem is where... when your not sure where the problem lies, pulling it apart does you no good. your left with a bunch of parts and still no idea what you should be looking at or for.
