... need some help, plz.

Hey guys,

I've got a problem, and I need some help, please.

I own a 86 NA ( I'm a second owner )and this car is of a sentimental value to me. Not only that it saved my life twice, but also I worked on it with my father who has passed away recently from a cancer. The car I guess reminds me of him.

Few months ago I've got a son, (something wonderful that happend to me in a long time... I love him to death)

Here's the problem......
The other day I went to a garage to pick-up some things from a car and I saw an owner's nightmare unfolding - a big puddle of coolant under my other baby...

can you guys help me find a mechanic who's good and who's not going to charge me arm and leg to fix my other baby.

Please.... thanx in advance

P.S.

I would sell the car....but I really don't want to give it for peanuts....

It's an external coolant leak. It'll probably be a simple fix if you can locate which hose is leaking. If you don't want to, hit up Fris @ Lucky 7, he can help you

I agree, easy fix. I've had three separate coolant leeks on my 88 NA: top rad hose, bottom rad hose, and cracked filler neck. The 2 hoses i got from autozone for like $15, the neck i got from Mazdatrix.

Easy fix, just stick with it.

the leak was from the exhaust, right on the Y split( behind the drivers side rear wheel) , and I could notice a little hick-ups in a idle when the machine was warmed up....I thought the plugs were dirty, or the spark plug cables were worn out....
I have to admit, I didn't pay attention to the fella for some time.

the place where we live doesn't allow me to change a light bulb on car.

my bet is it is the rear coolant hose. Easy way to check, just fill it back up and look for a leak. What city/area are you in?.

There are two rear coolant hoses, one on the back of the iron that connects to the TB (IIRC) and the hose that connects from the rear iron to the heater hose connection.

Then your heater core might be leaking *or* the rear hose is split right there at the heater core connection and is leaking into the car.
