Need help asap! Near thunderhill, headed north
I just melted my brake master reservoir at the track, and I'm heading north to Seattle. Do any of you have a spare you can help with? Please call me at 253-988-5683.
Thanks,
Noch

damn too bad, i have one and used to be right near there.. best bet is to get a ride into town and get one coming from the regular auto parts stores there. mazda master cylinders aren't something that is a dealer only part so the generic parts stores can get you a reman one.
thunder hill is kind of in BFE and i don't know of anyone who lives out that way aside from chico, yuba and sacramento aside from casey who doesn't really troll the forums much, and he has a 3rd gen so i doubt he has anything.

I'm gonna roll back to Seattle and don't want to be dripping fluid the entire way. I can just buy a bottle and keep refining, but over 10 hours that will get old quick!
then take my advice, find a hotel or someplace to crash while an auto parts store gets you a new reman master cylinder.
replacement takes basic hand tools, a 12mm and 10mm wrench. fill the master and let it drip until all air bubbles are gone and it's flowing streaming out the holes, plug one then the other as it bleeds out, install it then install the lines and flush the areas that get fluid on them with water. you will have some very small air bubbles until you can bleed the whole system properly but it will be hardly noticable. you can crack the lines and let it bleed more if it feels squishy, a helper makes it easier.
i doubt anyone in the area has a new master lying around somewhere, this is pretty much your only option or the one you mentioned, driving while it leaks. getting a used one is kind of silly, like putting a used piston in an engine from the wrecking yard, just limping it for the time being(which you're already doing).

All Star auto wrecking in Orland??? had one on a s4. They ripped it off the car for me and left it out front for me to pickup after they closed. Pulled my melted one off and threw on the replacement!!! Made it all the way home with no issues.
Stupid turbo gaskets blowing and leaking hot gasses all over the engine bay!!!
