Need Help - 650 Mile REPU road trip
This weekend I will be flying to Nor-Cal to pick up my REPU and Drive it from Oroville (80 miles north of Sac) to Las Vegas.
The truck is bone stock and was just completely gone through by Ben/Karack at Rotary Evolution. It had been in storage for 10 years so there where alot of bugs for him to work out. I only had a chance to put about 150 miles on it when I was home at christmas and it gave no problems at all. Since then my grandmother makes sure to start it 2 times a week and let it run for about 10 minutes.
As with anything though, and this is a 31 year old truck, I was hoping to have some Rotorhead contacts along the 99 and and possibly highway 58 area should I encounter any problems. Also, I wouldnt mine stopping and grabbing lunch/dinner if anybody wants to meet up or bring their REPU out.
I have a few things here and there left to do on it, put the replacement valance on, install the new door panels, and put the carpet in. Since the paint is original, I am going to leave it for now.
I will be leaving Oroville Saturday morning.
Thanks,
Shaun

Nice Truck!!
Sounds like a good trip. Weather should be pretty much ideal this time of year. If I was up there I'd stop by. Post this on mazdarepu.com, lotta REPUheads there.
Best of luck and have FUN.

Thanks for the compliments
Its tempting to bring it to your place Wacky, but that would add more time to the trip then I like. Come out to Vegas on the 30th, I will throw a cold ice chest full of heines in the back.

call me. I maybe we can caravan from Barstow to Vegas. But, I wonder if that REPU can keep up with me.

Update,
REPU cruised the whole way with no issues. Left at around 1 in the afternoon and got into Barstow at about 10 PM.
The only problem was the seat belt buzzer that wanted to start working shortly after the trip started which I promptly found and disconnected at the next gas stop.
It pulled up Tehachapi no problems, I cruised 75 the whole way and that was with a pretty decent weight load in the back and plenty of pedal left. Cross winds would wanted to push it around though.
I am going to put it up on the lift today and do the first oil change and some clean up then its off to Vegas tomorrow
I will post a few pics up later.
