Charlies motor has been out of the car all this time...and he didn't even bother try cleaning any of the parts...
Craig finished up his $10,000 motor yesterday or what?
archies i have seen 1000's of STI'S but were just waiting and wanting to yours
Why don't you just drop the calipers off at el dorado sand blasting and have them do the sand blasting and powder coating...

Friday for Ray's car: 100% sure (as we talked about)
Saturday movie theater trip: not 100% sure, but I'll see if my wife wants to come.
You can see the STi tomorrow. I guess I'm being lazy about the pics, but I'd rather not take pics just to hear the peanut gallery hate on it. It is what it is, a 300hp grocery getter. It's about to get another 30hp and 30ft/lbs of torque though and maybe some stiffening up. I can't be having the dreaded "STi understeer" when going after Dave's EVO!

Oh I know man. People are hating on the hatch-only STi momentarily. The '04 is the darling of the STi fanboi clubs. I was put off by the looks initially too, but after I drove it... it was too sick not to get!
What? I talked to you earlier this past week and told you that we would do this on Friday. I said I was pretty sure about the movies, which IIRC, was going to be happening on Saturday.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeetttttttt....with that mod and new tires you'll blow me away. Not to worry though, a drop in air filter, downpipe and a manual boost controller would put me another 30 above ya.
STI understeer? That's what the EVO is notorious for (remember?). I've since found out that I can upgrade the rear sway bar to bring handling back to neutral on corner entry.
Archie.....you buy it or lease it? What tires did it come with?

Dave, you should be sitting at around 280hp and about 270ft/lbs. torque? The stock specs for my STi are 305hp and 290ft/lbs. The COBB Access Port is a huge thing right now, because at 5k it really drops off. So I should be getting an even 300 on both after that. Those same mods with mine would put me probably another 30 above you!
I will say this, as far as I know; the EVO is much stiffer. My main focus will be to stiffen it up via strut/sway bars and some body bracing. Funny enough, after initial understeer; EVO drivers report oversteer!
At this point:
Drag=STi
Twisties=EVO
I think the EVO beat the STi around the track by .02 seconds. The STi outran the EVO by about .4-.6 in a drag.
As for rims/tires IIRC they are 245-40-18x8.5 w/ Dunlop Sport 660s.

You don't own cars like I do and worry about gas or tire prices my boy. I leave that to the peasants and the bottom feeders. Viva burnt petroleum products!!
