"Hmm, I could let that lady take my seat on the subway... But then I'd have nowhere to sit, **** that."
It disgusts me that no one will do anything in the slightest for anybody else unless it benefits them in some way. Though, I could partially understand that... because now if you attempt to help someone, they'll more then likely take advantage of you. No one is grateful for the help someone else offers them, they just look to exploit it. It's a lose/lose situation.
No wonder it's all gonna burn.
This is true. You never read about someone helping out a lady who runs an orphanage, or someone saving someone from a fire, or anything. Nowadays, people are so self-centered that the thought of helping someone else NEVER occurrs to them at any point in their life.

which would explain why most of my friends are substantially older.

I think it's the lack of initiative, respect, and morals instilled into our generation. Most people my age were raised on MTV, N64, and weed. School was a babysitter who utilized the school bus to ferry latchkey kids to the TV. Instead of having a mentor, they had Carson Daly and Real World/Road Rules to teach them "how life is and how other's should be treated". Some broke free and made something of themselves, most just became 'townies' who live sad and miserable selfish lives.
idk. i dont 100% agree with that. i think previous generations are far more receptive and appreciative to generosity no matter how great or small. i think our generation is way to lazy and self centered as a whole and it just keeps getting worse.

This generation has no respect, they're a bunch of low lifes, and will do anything they can to get ahead. I have heard some people say they would MUG someone for $100. One hudred dollars? Seriously? What if that was their rent or something? What if that was the last of their money for the week, and they needed to get medicine for their baby? Seriously, wtf is wrong with people?
If people were raised with respect, we wouldn't have the problems we do today, and I bet you that soldier wouldn't have been killed.

Pretty much we just stated the same general concept. This generation has an overall lack of respect. It's that lack of respect that has our society all fucked up.
i 100% think that when parents were no longer "allowed" to hit their child is when this world went to ****.
im sorry but this time out **** doesnt work. and im not saying beating your child is a good thing. there is a very definitive difference between abuse and punishment
but i know that as a child if i did something out of line i was getting at the very least a spanking and there were times that i thought twice about doing certain things. of course i did them anyhow and got my *** kicked but none the less i thought twice.
trust me i have no paitence for parents that refuse to parent. im sorry your child is not your best friend. get over that idea right now. you are the parent you need to set boundaries. not just give your child everything it wants when it wants it. wtf does that teach your kid? to be an *******? good parenting. on opposite day

I still laugh when I see a kid get spanked. I don't know why it's funny to me, but I think it's great. When I go into a public restroom and a dad is whaling on his kid, I snicker at the urinal. I'll flush, wash my hands, and start to walk out. The dad will say "Sorry man..." No reason to be sorry. I'm glad you're not letting your heathen act up in the middle of the store/restaurant.
Viva ***-whipping.
Edit to add: When you're at a restaurant and sitting in a booth and the people behind you have a toddler who insists on throwing stuff over the booth, pulling hair, or screaming in your ear and yet, you do nothing as a parent? Public *** whipping from me is in order. Haul me to jail, just let me finish my perfect 'al dente' pasta in peace.

**** i use to live with my aunt and uncle 3-4 months out of the year (they have 5 kids so i made 6) if any of us ever acted up in public we were sent to sit in the car by ourselves. this either meant no food or no fun....that worked ok....
