Yeah I doubt it but I will surely fight for it at least til the end of the week. if they decide to at least help with a portion of the stolen items, great! If not, I'll just learn from my repeated mistake and move the car elsewhere.

For the redundant application, best you already have the alarm installed before we connect. Have the installer show you which is the door lock trigger wire and you have the wiring instructions handy otherwise.

 

Yeah the alarm is already in and working. He couldnt make it work with the auto door locks cause they stopped working when I put in the Solex locks. All I need is some stock door handles and I can take the car back to him to wire into the auto door locks.

From your description, when you get the door handles at the junk yard, get the entire wiring cable that runs from them. Should put you in a plug and play to get the door locks working. Suggest you take the lock cylinders out and to a lock smith to get keyed to your ignition key. Not that expensive to get done, and worth every penny.


Those need to be in place before I can do the rest.

The alarm I got helps me sleep at night. The management office has taken a few extra measures to prevent this from happening and the building stays lit through the night now. I'll be out in 2 months anyway, just hoping nothing happens til then which I doubt cause the FC stays at work most of the week now

 

John, attempting fraud at an adjuster's suggestion is still fraud. I'd call anyone out on that score regardless of who said it. I called out Eddie for considering it and he and I are pretty good friends. At the end of the day it's bad form to respond to theft by lying and stealing yourself. Why's that so hard to understand?

For the record: I didn't reveal all facts about my car in the SS voting up front because I thought listing my car as having "extensive driveline mods" was funny and I knew it would come out almost immediately (which of course it did). I never lied. I've already apologized to the organizers that my joke went further than intended and for the misunderstanding of being let into the contest when I assumed they knew (which Berny gracefully accepted... John, clearly not so much). SS is supposed to be about fun and comaradarie... Did you even notice that I was the only one of the "competitors" who didn't vote for my own car? Yeah, I voted for Eddie's.

John, you may or may not be a relatively moral person on the whole, but your suggested course of action in this instance is stealing. Care to lay odds that if I called your insurance company they'd agree with me? The insurance rep who made that suggestion to you originally deserves to be fired but that doesn't make lying about the means in which your loss occurred in order to facilitating the theft any less wrong. To make matters worse after you're finished making false statements, you then commit perjury by signing your name on the claim form that everything you stated is true and correct.

You jump all over my morals for a joke, but even if everything you claim about me was true it doesn't make my point any less valid. Hell, if serial murderer pointed out that your suggested course of action was immoral I'd agree with him. I understand that your pride took a big hit when my car won at Mazfest, but your insistence on attacking me to revisit a misunderstanding rather than address the point of the argument is weak.

I also might mention that I presently don't know of anyone besides yourself who has beef with me. If and when I discover they do, I'll be glad to apologize to them for anything I can own up to, just like I apologized to you at SNS. Joel's car rightfully won best RX-7 at Mazfest. Just look at his build thread, it speaks for itself. I don't know why anyone would get upset over that.

Greenman, nothing was said about Joel’s win at Mazfest. Those organizers actually DID give him special dispensation unlike what he told everyone on the V8 forum regarding 7Stock. I guess he thought misleading his friends was "funny". That cut and paste were his exact words and certainly not taken out of context. Oh wait, that was a misunderstanding.

In actual fact, at Mazfest I even mentioned to Joel I thought he did a really good job on his build. What I thought was funny was that the award was for Best Classic RX7. The Mazfest organizers obviously had a different definition of the word Classis in mind than what you might find in Webster’s Dictionary.

And to be clear, contrary to Joel’s insinuation (again with the words), I wasn't even entered in the Mazfest award competition. You had to be registered and given a number to participate. I got there at the tail end of it all as a number of forum members know.

 

One more point for you Joel as so far you still don't seem to get it.

If you want to voice a contrary opinion, do it in a respectful way and you can reasonably expect to be responded to respectfully. If you do it by smashing some one in the face like you did, you had better be prepared to get smashed in the face right back because you simply earned it. I don't disagree with the notion behind your response, but I certainly take issue with how you did it.

 

John, let it go man. I didn't get anything special from the Mazfest folks, dispensation or otherwise. It was an open entry, I entered, and was judged. I won, end of story. Since then you've said NOTHING about Mazfest except how I didn't deserve to win, how my car is neither a classic nor even an rx7 anymore, and how DivinDriver should have won instead of me. Finally you said that that it "chaffed you" that the award went to a piston car. (Hence why it seems to me that your pride for all things rotary took the hit). The fact that you complimented the quality of my build in person doesn't negate those other things.

Sevenstock put out a call for vehicles to have "special consideration" parking spots so I entered, and yes, knowing it was a primarily a rotary show I entertained myself by being coy about my use of pistons. Naturally all my friends knew what was up and given the commentary in the thread I assumed the judges knew too. I was therefore pleasantly surprised to discover they let me in. I said exactly this when I asked for my v8 friends to vote for me.

How this constitutes lying to and manipulating my friends is beyond me. When it came out that the organizers hadn't known and were upset about how things had gone down, I first apologized, then asked them to reconsider, and then stepped aside as gracefully as I could. I can post that part too if you insist. In all cases, my actions were exactly aligned with my words, so you can stop worrying about the rest of my iceberg.

As to stating things too harshly: sure I've been known to do that. But come on, what you proposed is pretty messed up if you think it through... Now you could have said something like "in Eddie's case the ends justify the means" at which point we're at an impass and simply agree to disagree. Rather than talking about why you think ripping off insurance companies is in fact OK, you instead attack me and claim I have no moral right to make any such statement and attempt to dredge up crap about a misunderstanding that I apologized for months and months ago (and for which no one seems to have issues except you!)
