My baby is damaged!!!!

So i just got off of work and was driving home. I had the green arrow to make my u-turn and some A-hole made a right turn after i started making my turn and hit my car! The passenger fender is pushed in and rubbing on the tires so i can't drive it, my front bumper is crack..... my headlight is pushed in so my hood won't pop open, and the metal tie bar from the bumper to the fender side is all bent! And two thing really **** me off, His car (taxi cab) on has some scratches on the driver side bumper, and he tried to blame be sayin that i turned in his lane!!!! HE HAD A RED LIGHT!!!! what makes it worse is that i had my engine rebuilt from lucky 7 only 3 weeks ago and still breaking it in! FML!!!!!! I just hope the damage is not too extensive so my insurance company won't total my car. I HATE CAB DRIVERS!!!!!

oh man sorry to hear that. at least it sounds like a easy win for you in determining who's at fault.

"HE HAD A RED LIGHT!!!! "

Get a copy of the police report. If that he had a red light is co oberated, he's at fault as that alone gave you the right of way no matter what he says. In that circumstance that was YOUR lane, not his. Also, since it's a cab company, feel good that at least he has insurance to cover everything.

Pull out every receipt you have, especially the one from Lucky7, to show your car is worth more than what some computer program might indicate otherwise. It would be even better if Lucky7 charged you what (say) Mazdatrix would have charged you to R&R and rebuild.

No police report? Hard to imagine the police having to dispatch, but not file a report; least, it's never happened that way to me. Damage limit's so low today...

Did you get witnesses' names and addresses, at least?

Normally a police report only takes place when an injury is involved. But I was once involved in a very similar car accident and had to bug the police officer to write up a report for me.

from the sounds of it, I'd expect the insurance companies own investigation will get you to the same place a police report would get you to anyway. And, the good news is the other party has insurance coverage. So be sure and get to the doctor right away and get the headaches and limp checked you've been suffering from since the accident, if you get my drift.

Even if the insurance totals our car, you can buy it back. The cost to repair making it a total is based on all new parts and market labor costs. With RX7club forum resources, you can put your car back together with the net amount of money you end up with and (I'll bet) have money left over in your pocket.

Settle with the insurance company, buy it back, repair it yourself with pic a part parts or parts from forum members. Or buy any 2nd Gen, especially a roller, and move all your good parts to your replacement shell. Hell, now might be the time to upgrade to a Vert.

The only thing is you'll end up with a salvage title if you fix your car. But the only real consequence to a salvage title is you'll only be able to get liability insurance coverage. But, as you've learned, cost of comp and collision doesn't justify considering at what value they total the car. So makes no sense to have comp and collision on our cars anyway. I dropped Comp and Collision on my 2nd Gens a longggggggggggggg time ago.

Really no police report? He runs a red light, slams into someone; and its cool?

I would of pressed for that report to be written up. It looks better when you take that *** to small claims court to get your money! Besides, Judge Judy isnt down with people who get in accidents and dont get a report!!!!

damn id be so pissed! If the insurance decides to total it that would suck man.. I would just fix it myself..
It seems easy to fix that, just pull the fender off and geta rope, tie it to a truck and pull the damage out.. get some fiberglass fenders and fiberglass bumper and hood and done..

but damn, that taxi cab dood should slap himself for blaming it on you.. that guy needs to wake up and realize its his fault..
