Moving to LA from Canada in my FC!?!?
Had a question i was hoping someone can help me out with
Moving to LA in the next few months and was wondering if i can bring my RHD FC with me??
The car is currently registered/plated in Canada
Is it legal to have a japanese import driving the streets of california!? I know yall have a rule against the skyline, but what about other vehicles?
Any help at this point would be great to steer me in the right direction with this. I really dont want to have to sell it when i make to move

i'm pretty sure it's possible to register a RHD car in cali cuz, i've seen it.
at the same time, i've also seen a RHD car wait in the left turn lane of a busy intersection for the whole light because he couldn't see if there was oncoming traffic from the right side of the car.

As far as I know you should be able to register it here if it is already legally registered in Canada under your name and you provide proof of said registration. I would contact the California DMV and speak to a representative about it.

In most cases, any car legally registered in Canada is believed to meet California safety measures therefore ok to register in CA. If the car was sold here in the states, like all RX7s were, it will be ok to register here as long as it meets DOT standards and smog test (visual in some instances).
I think all you have to do is take it to a highway patrol station for a brief inspection and they'll sign off on it so you can then go to the DMV to register it to your new address... remember the car has to be smogged to register it then you have 30 days to get insurance or they suspend your registration.
Good luck!
