Found the vid of my close call:

wow that was very close glad you made it out of that one without a scratch. I'm sure you left a skid mark in more than one place

I havent found any videos of my car. I'm going to buy a reliable camera so I dont miss any footage any more at future events.

Damn Johnson, you're lucky the car stayed on four wheels going off sideways like that. What happened again? That looked like the entrance to a straight not the braking portion...

FWIW I've been really happy with the carbotechs (XP8s I believe). And yes we should talk big brakes. Do you still have my number?

Carbotechs are very good, just over double the price of HP+. I have ran their pads on other cars, just not the RX-7. The HP+ will be your best and cheapest solution. You will need better pads anyway, even if you move to larger rotors. If you go with Joel's kit, I believe you run the same pads (not 100% sure on that though).

If bed in correctly the HP+ are very liveable on the street. Mine dusted a lot in the beginning, and since then they dust much much less.

HP+ is really all you need for HPDE. Try ducting your brakes instead of switching pads.

Now it's time to get back out on track.

Yeah I still have your number, when's a good time to call?

It happened so fast, but I think under full throttle going through that chicane, I hit a bump on the left side upsetting the car. Everyone said they saw my left rear jump up and then go into a slide. Watching it happen on video was alot faster than what I experienced.

I think a few other people spun out there as well, or nearly spun out.

Hey man, I have some video of you as I was taping on top of the bridge between runs. Fisa told me you were driving well, in her words, "that car STUCK" I'll try to edit out the stuff you don't need and I can put it on my FTP site so you can grab the video file... will take at least a few days, hope that's kosher BTW, you should have asked me to use my camera... I noticed the mount in your car... next time you can use my camera, it's actually not bad for taping these kinds of things.

Everyone missed Juan and his Ramon Ayala

Yeah, I was a tad more careful the rest of the day with that spot, at the end of the day I was just barreling through it no problem, I just avoided that little spot. I was chasing one of the kit cars for maybe 2 laps, and then got outbraked in the first corner. Made me a sad panda. I forget who was in the car with me.

Here's the only video I shot; quality's not that great, as I shot it from my still camera, but some of you might see yourselves in there. Not many sevens in this heat:

In the last couple seconds, somebody goes shooting off into the grass; didn't realize it until I looked at it later, else I would have tracked in on it.

I'm glad I never had a problem in that chicane. I was full throttle the whole day through that section.

Sounds good. Let me know whenever you get the video ready. I saw the mount on your car too but it never occurred to me to ask you about it. The car stuck very well throughout the whole day which was good for chasing R8's and GT3's I wanted to give you a ride but you kept disappearing. Let me know if you guys go to any other track days. Especially if the guy, Clay?, with the R8 goes

My friend was right behind you when it happened. He said it looked like you had some wheelspin as you were setting up for that transition onto the straight, then tried to correct in the transition and went around.

I think most of us in this thread were in the same session so nobody was available to take pics. Mike got some video but hasn't converted it yet. I got to see alot of Juan scooting very fast away, and some red FC that was parked 4 bays down. Anyone know who he was? He was fast!

In my last session I saw a piece of plastic in the middle of the front straightaway...it looked FDish in nature.

The red FC 4 bays down belongs to Largeorangefont. It was fast indeed

Let's try to get this many people out at the next track event, should be nice! I want to battle it out with Juan and Fris
