Military bases and racetracks seem to go hand in hand. Laguna Seca is on Fort Ord.

yea that amp... they closed it down because the cars were too loud... wtf right?...i guess those dummasses cant hear the f-16's....

Laguna Seca isn't technically in Fort Ord. Fort Ord is just north of it, but heck, they're close enough to each other.

Yes, that is a nice track; the SCCA, NASA, and several other track clubs used it for about a year... but the track got closed down, because the owner violated his conditional-use-permit. He built the track as a PRIVATE minimum use track, but then he started to rent it out every weekend, and the neighbors got pissed, and I think he pissed off a few of the local politikos, and they shut him down! Too bad... it's a nice track.

It's wierd, because when we raced there, the F-16s and other jets were so loud, you couldn't hear the race cars... go figure!
