Looking at some FD's

I was wondering if anyone in the SoCal area that has extensive knowledge of a FD would like to accompany me to go look at a few FD's I have my eye on. I'm coming from an E46 M3 so this will be a big change for me. I've only just begun to start lurking so bear with me .

These are some of the ones I've found.

High chassis mileage, but practically new engine.

Overdone cosmetics. Low chassis and motor mileage.

Or if you know of any SoCal member selling a good FD let me know.

Thanks in advance!

*P.S. Has anyone owned both an E46 M3 and FD before? I'm hoping the maintenance on FD's won't exceed what my Bimmer costs, which is quite a bit.

Just a heads up, the yellow FD, although it is a bit over done, those body pieces are very expensive and highend. RE Amemiya is one of the top rotary tuning shops in japan, and by the looks of it (from the list of parts) it was build very well. Also the rims are from RE Amemiya and can only be imported from japan. If you plan on tracking an FD that would be a great car. For 21k that car is worth every penny, but its better kept in a garage (weekend car) or on the track IMO.

The kit on the red FD looks a bit shabby.

As for the cost of maintaining and FD, it should be just about on par with your M3 (if not a tiny bit cheaper)

Those wheels probably cost a chunk of change. Maybe I can get him to drop the price if I part with those lol. Not a fan.

I'm near the Los Cerritos Mall, so pretty much where the 91 meets the 605. Not too far from you if you're in Gardena .

Have you had a look in the west for sale section and if you get ten posts you should look at the 3rd gen for sale section. I for one am looking for a car I personally like that yellow car, but I am looking a stock car. Good luck on any car you find.

BTW that yellow FD was built by bananaRE
https://www.rx7club.com/members/bananare-13437/

and sold it in 2004
https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...1&postcount=12

so who ever is selling it obviously didn't built it. Just in case they try to pull that card on you. If that car is still in the same shape when it was featured at sevenstock then it's a steal. Goodluck.

Since he left the forum so long ago it was really hard to find a pic... This is an older one prior to him changing out the rims, getting canards and other stuff

The CYM originally was owned by BananaRE. I'm glad to see that it is still in a prestine condition.

Yeah Banana RE sold it because he couldn't drive it without getting pulled over, it's a major liability in the Smog state of Ca. and it screams, look at me I have way too much $$ and not enough sense to hide it from the cops, unless you plan on returning the motor to stock, you'll have a heck of a time getting it to pass smog when you purchase it. Other than that it's probably the most babied CYM I know of in SOCAL...
