Question looking for ride-along in LSX V8 FD: San Diego/Orange County/Los Angeles

I posted a thread about this a while ago just before Sevenstock two years ago. I'm looking for a ride along with an LSX powered FD, preferably one in the 300-400 whp range (nothing too extreme), and one that is kosher with CA emissions. I'm not asking for a top speed run or wreckless driving, just a ride along to demonstrate the car's manners around town. I'll offer to buy lunch and beverage of your choice. Please PM me if you would like to demonstrate your ride. Many thanks in advance

^^ Yup. Won't happen for a while. Will probably start parting the car next year (Jan 2011 or later). In the meantime I think I will run race gas and 20#'s boost to see how fast I can go

I do plan to buy another FD in the future, but it'll definitely be an LSx FD Just my preference with all the crap I went thru with my Ex Stripper GF ehhehe.

Mike, check out this forum:

http://www.norotors.com/index.php?PH...s0;wwwRedirect

V8Rx7Forum is no longer in existence.

Quite a bit of LSx FDs and FCs for sale. Not too sure if you want to go that route. Maybe cheaper who knows but less headache hehe.

^^ Sweet, thanks Dino, already registered What is the deal with the forums, first it was torquecentral, then v8rx7forum (?), and now norotors? I thought about picking one up already built, but I would rather do the swap myself so I know exactly how the car is setup.

I hear you on the headaches, but funny thing is that my car is running perfect... a few months ago I finally got it sorted out to where I'm happy with it. I beat the **** out of it and it keeps asking for more. And I really do love the rotary, nothing quite like it and turbos!

I was thinking of getting a C6 corvette, but the thing is that I can't see myself driving one since I'm so small, I feel like the car is oversized for my frame. The Zo6's are so badass, but they are expensive... But, I love the FD, always have/always will. Having v8 torque in a sub 3000# car will make for one hell of a ride.

And in case anyone is wondering, I'm not converting because of "reliability" reasons, I'm converting because I want 300+ ft-lb torque @ 2000 rpm to redline. It makes the car so much more fun to drive on the street. After having a ride in a ZR1 and C6 ZO6 a few weeks ago, I came to realize this.

BTW, the ZR1 is a complete animal, that thing is INSANE. The car explodes with power (as does the ZO6). The owner of the car is a track junkie too, he knows how to drive... was the most fun car ride I've ever been on my a huge margin!!! We drifted around out of the parking lot, around pretty much every corner. Takes a few seconds to get to 100 in that thing... and the brakes... I felt like my eyes were going to pop out when he hit them! And the gearing is so tall... 1st gear goes past 60 mph.. he actually drove to work one day only in 1st just to say he can do it Truly an amazing machine.

They made the C6 big to accomodate old, big and fat rednex haahhaha jk.

I have no idea what's with that site. I've read that the owners keep conflicting with each other and assigned mods. Who knows.

You have a good healthy engine dude. As much as I love my lowend torque, I do get turbo boost withdraw once and awhile. I haven't driven or rode in a ZR1 but what you have experienced in your recently ride along, coincides with others who have.

^^ I remember seeing some TV program a while ago before the C6 was introduced that they made the ergonomics of the 'vette to suit everyone from your "average" American (pot bellied 200# redneck?) to an NFL football player... I guess it was designed with big guys in mind

^^ You know what, if it was smoggable/CA registerable, LEGALLY, I would have done that. In fact I was looking to go GT35R/ball bearing/etc. seeing as I have most of the supporting mods on my car already. Oh well. ONe of these days I will have a single turbo FD in my garage, but that will have to wait until smog BS doesn't apply to these cars anymore, if it ever happens.
