CA Little Red riding Hood FC

Thought I would a make built/restore thread about this new FC I just picked up. I recently sold my other Auto black FC although visually was much nicer. I couldn't do very long without a stick shift.

So I picked this up for $600, with $600 of back registration in reality I think it was a fair deal. So what I'm going to do now is restore and fix whatever is broken on it as of now these are the parts I need (already made a WTB thread). Let me know if you guys see anything out of place.

Things I need:
Drivers inside door handle
Drivers outside door handle
driver and Pass window switch (can't roll down without them)
Stereo surround
Stick shift surround with boot
Shift ****
A/C vents

Now onto what y'all came to see money shots

Interior ya'll can see how dirty

Engine Bay shots
don't look as clean as last one, and it looks like they removed the air pump. Looks like they put some aftermarket headers. Also looks like it needs a new exhaust because the dude said there is a leak somewhere under the car.

So here's my new baby, I also got S5 conv. lights that I will install these afternoon. Overall I hope I made a good choice, I'm also going to do a Comp test this afternoon. Because on the way home, it felt better wise. Like, better power. I guess I will find out here in the next few days.

So let me know what ya'll think

PM returned.

A few issues I found:
-Coolant light doesn't seem to come off even though It had enough coolant in it.
- So car got almost half way warm on the trip home. Replaced the radiator cap
-Car seems to sort of whine then when I press the clutch it stops?

Any ideas would be awesome

The whining noise you are hearing when the clutch is let out is most likely your throw out bearing. Especially if it goes away when you push the clutch in.

Your coolant light may be staying on if you didn't fill it properly. There is an air bleed valve at your radiator where the upper hose connects. You need to start the car and let it warm up until you get a solid flow of coolant coming out of that valve to be sure there is no air pockets in there. If you don't do this I guarantee it your sensor will come on at random or all the time. Be sure to add more coolant to your overflow as you will have lost some due to the process.

I have a red exterior/grey interior S4 parts car, although it is not the same red you have. I have outside and inside driver door handles if you still need them. If you are talking about the center vents for the A/C I think those are part of the stereo surround? I dunno it's been a while since I disassembled an FC, I may have them but I sold the surround so I'm not sure. Anyways let me know if you still need anything.

Hey well I think I pretty figured out the "add coolant" light, I noticed the wire on top of the radiator isn't connected to anything, go figure. Lol.

The whine would make sense. So would the clutch be easier to swap by removin the engine or the tranny?

As far as the interior I did manage to pick up most of the stuff I needed the only thing I need. Left is the stereo surround and the exterior door handle. and I just picked up a coupl parts.

Overnighted parts from Japan. Lol.

Remove the tranny, unless you have some reason to pull the engine. You could pull them together and replace the clutch while out of the car. Would be really easy that way. But if you don't need to pull the engine then I would just remove the trans.

Thanks l2d, now as far as the window switches go since I didn't have the electronics on my stock switches it was just the covers. I'm thinking of wiring up the window switches with the connectors from the MPV since those are more abundant than the rx7, I know the passanger side was plug and play, and the driver's side is bigger so I gotta go back and cross reference to use the plugs from the MPV. Instead

And I was looking at the clutches on rockauto, and I'm surprised at how cheap they were under 200 bux, so I think I'm going to pick one up next week, when I replace the exhaust and the shifter bushings since they seem to be loose.

I never thought about Amazon, I think I'm going to give them a try. Because rockauto prices are good, but in order to keep them good prices you have to stick with the most basic shipping and so far that shipping has taken the longest out of everything I've ordered.

So I think amazon might be a good opportunity, since I generally also get stuff sooner

Don't forget you'll either need to have your original flywheel resurfaced or buy a new one, stock or lightweight, when you replace the clutch.

Looks like you won't be able to read your gauges anymore, but the wheel looks nice.
