LA Area - Looking to borrow rotary compression tester

Think I may have cracked an apex seal after some spirited canyon driving this weekend. Would like to confirm one way or another and don't have a rotary-specific compression tester so would like to borrow one if possible.

I'm located near LAX but willing to pick it up anywhere relatively close.

Thanks in advance,
Ray

there is nothing specific to a rotary. you just need to take compression off the trailing side. make sure both plugs are removed. AIM me if you need help i'm in Santa Monica.

I thought there was a specific rotary compression tester that could give you the compression of each 'chamber' of the rotor as it moves within the housing. As opposed to just watching the needle move with a normal one.

Not going to get to diagnosing it until after the weekend likely. Trying to get my race car ready for ButtonWillow this weekend. May contact you after.

Thanks,

What do you run with NASA? I used to instruct with them but schedule conflicts have prevented me from going to the past few events. A wedding this weekend in Tahoe will stop me this time.

you can use the one at harbor freight. just remove the middle section so it doesnt build up on compression.

You can also just hold the release button on the side of the gauge. this will just show you if you have an uneven side but it does not tell you what the actual number is.

Exactly (the last message). I have a regular one. Haven't had a chance to diagnose yet though.

I ran Spec Neon back with NASA in 2007, and ran that class after NASA before and after canceled it as a national class at a small track in MI.

Took most of last year off. Going to run TT this weekend to shake the car down, probably TTE since there are apparently no TTF guys, but PTF is where I plan to race the car for now.

Instructing is in my plans at some point as well.
