For what it's worth I personally I found I never had as much fun when my car was a rotary simply because I didn't trust it and didn't understand it. There's a lot to be said for the darkside.
Technically I didn't blow up, I could have had I ran it, but it just needs a bit of repair. But thanks though, I have moved on, as mopping can only be done for so long. Sorry to say, but I love the design of the rotoary engine. Ii have sent 4 rods through the blocks in my highschool days, and I have lost count of how many head gaskets went bad on me, two alone in the civic I drive. Not to mention the perfect balance the rotory engine gives the car, I do understand why anyone would want to mess these things up. V8's belong in muslce cars, let's keep them there. As far as understanding it, I understand it, but as stated it pays to play.

So I found I was not running a wideband, I will be now. Hopefully I will be able to get the cluster and thattogether, but we will see as I'm moving soon and that always makes for a fun month

Good luck. Nobody likes having engine problems within the first few thousand miles.

Not sure, apex seal cracked, it was the atkins gryo treated ones that claim not to hurt the rotor housing if the crack/break, but they do. Not using those this goround. Got my my car back, I hate. Vw beetles(my rental) it was the stupidest car ever made, can't handle or anything. Anyways, gonna do a few things before I retune, get a wideband for one, change out my intercooler piping for aluminum, and put a computer in my car for the sole purpose of recording everything that happens so if anything happens again I can tell exactly what when and all that stuff. If I can I wanna get a surge tank too , even though they are ugly as hell to have. Really I just missed my car more than I thought I ever could, glad to have it back.

Does any apex seal not damage the rotor housing when they break? If it's strong enough to hold compression at 1600*F ......

Sometimes the Atkins seals don't damage the housings when they let go.

Carbon seals are the gentlest on housings when they let go, but they don't last very long either.

All will have steel springs behind them, though, and a spring jammed against the next seal back and racing around the housing could do just as much damage as a broken seal could, I'd bet.

Broken bits, they just never seem to exit gracefully.

Damn, You got your car back on the road pretty quickly.

Did you rebuild this engine or swap in a different one?
