Just move to Mountain View. Looking for meetings in the area and some help.
Hi everyone,
I just moved to Mountain View and was looking to see if there are any meetings around here. Just moved from Maryland and I'm also have worried about the emissions. Any suggestions on good place to go to get it checked easily?
Any help would be great. Don't have a lot to spend and I don't think it will pass given the higher standards for emissions in CA.
Thanks guys,
Looking forward to meeting you all.

Welcome to the bay area... what car do you have? is it stock? If it is stock and your car is in good shape, you probably don't have much to worry about. Just do a presmog test, most smog places would do that for you.
As for meets, they happen every once in a while, just keep an eye open on the west coast forum...

hi seb, welcome to the bay. i'm in the mtn. view area as well. what kind of car do you have? i went to a place in santa rosa to get my car smogged by a smog tech who didn't mind doing the 25mph run in third gear, which seemed to be the key to get my car to pass smog. it feels good to an "environment-friendly" ~320whp car =).

Hi guys,
Sorry for the delayed response. To answer some of the questions.
My car is a red 3rd gen with a molded on body kit, ie it's all one piece. Looks great but a pain when it gets hit. Internal its got a lot of mods. Dual intake, perfomance intercooler, exhaust, BOV, boost controler, fuel controler, non sequential turbo and bunch more. Doubt it will pass. Next meet you have I'll drop by and get your opinion.
Anyways, looking forward to meeting you guys. I'll keep my eyes open for some upcoming meets. If anyone has any smog hookup I have a feeling I will need it.
Thanks guys,
