JGTC in Phoenix May 12-13, 2006!!

Who's coming? All members from the rotary community are invited to attend. See my invitation below sent out earlier today. If you're not a member of one of the groups mentioned but would like to hang out with other Rotary enthusiasts, please shoot me a PM.

Dear RCCAZ, AZRX-8, and SoCal RX Club members,

Mark your calendars for Friday and Saturday, May 12-13, 2006 for GT LIVE coming to PIR Raceway in conjunction with the Grand American racing event.

In addition to RCCAZ members, AZRX-8 and SoCal RX Club members are planning to join us. Please make sure and register as an RCCAZ club participant to be included with our group.

One of our club members has already been in touch with Sylvain Tremblay and is working on a meet and greet for RCCAZ members with the team from SpeedSource Racing. As many of you know, SpeedSource stepped up to the GT class this year with their 3-rotor RX-8, which was BARELY edged out of the top spot a few weeks back at Homestead race track in Florida. Sylvain Tremblay and David Haskell will be vying for the top spot at Saturday's Grand Am GT event.

In addition to Grand Am racing, GT LIVE will be hosting a complete slate of activities and attractions the entire weekend as shown below. RCCAZ has already registered as an 'official' club for the event. I'll be working on renting a large 'easy up' so we have ample shade at the event.

Below, please find a link for registration. Club cost for the weekend is $60, which entitles you to track admission both days, preferred club parking, and admission to the on-site GT LIVE autocross event. You HAVE to register with RCCAZ and pay for both days to be admitted to the club parking area. Once you've registered, please contact me at teull@***.net to let me know that you've signed up. For those out of towners planning to join us, you can find a link to hotel information on the homepage of the PIR website.

NOTE: We'd like to get as many registered as possible by Monday, May 1, 2006, so please let me know when you've gone online and paid for your tickets. I'll be working with the staff from GT LIVE to make sure that everyone who's paid receives their tickets. That's why it's vital that you let me know when you've registered so I can get your tickets headed your way!

- EVO vs. WRX - the saga contiues

More and more people are hearing about the event and it looks as though
this event will be an awesome experience for all who attend. In
reference to the GT TRACK ATTACK, we are seeing alot of entries from
the All Wheel Drive market. Needless to say the war will be on between
the Mitsubishi Evolution and the Subaru WRX. On track we will see the
HPI WRX STi and the Zero Sports WRX STi standing tall as the top
contingent to wave a Subaru flag. And they will go head to head with
some extremely stiff competition as the XS Engineering EVO stands its
ground along side the Cyber EVO of Sun Auto. The GT TRACK ATTACK will
be an awesome proving ground to see which AWD monster will take home
not only the cash purse but also the bragging rights that go along with
it. For more information, on these and other vehicles please logon to:
