hey guys,

about 2 years ago me and a few other close friends started meets in irvine at albertsons every wednesday night. And from inviting everyone and the help of others the meets got pretty big. Some nights 30-35+ cars and a whole lot of other people that came just to hang out. Til one time the cops came and actually had a problem with someone doing something stupid, people slowly stopped coming out and i eventually stopped coming out and after that, the meets eventually died.

I didnt even have my car back then, cause it was down for a rebuild, but i still made it out.

Now that I have my car back and i have met a few people locally and have a team locally we are thinking about starting a new meet every wednesday night, which we would all attend on a regular basis.

Last time there was a mr2 meet and i posted on other forums and about 18 cars showed up. 10 which werent even mr2s.

So, this is a heads up to all the people on this forum to come out, and try to get this meet goin. The meet will be not going on this wednesday (Feb 8) since it is on such short notice, i dont want people coming out and seeing theres few cars and not coming back next time. So instead im gonna tell everyone to come out next week (Feb 15), so theres plenty of advance in time, mark ur calendars!

The meet is going to be in front of First Class Pizza at 9:00p.m., which is where my brother works so his boss doesnt care, in Placentia, CA. We are choosing wednesday because its a nice break in the week and i dont normally know of any other meets that go on, on wednesdays like, subie meets (monday), mr2 tuesdays, and evo thursdays. plus its not on the weekend so it doesnt interfere with anyones plans for the weekend. Feel free to post this anywhere else. JUST NO RICE!

Hopefully we get no troubles from the po-po, as long as no one does anything stupid, because weve had meets there before and never got any complaints about it.

hummm do i wanna drive 45 mins and 62 kmh to goto a meet ?????? hhhummm

 

i dont expect anyoen to go way outta their way for this meet, its not one of those kinda meets that happen once every like 6 months just for us 7s. its the local kind, that gives car people a place to go on a wed night that dont have much else to do. I used to drive 20 miles/roughly 20 mintues every wed for 6 months to attend this one meet til it eventually lost its spark.

But it was something i always looked forward to

is anyone plannin on comin out tonight?
i know theres FC guys in the area. there will be 2 FDs there for sure, and other cars. im goin a lil early to get some pizza, its really good pizza!

the outcome wasnt as great as i would have liked it, Alot of people saying they were coming but not showing. But I guess alot of people were busy that night with work and school. Next week should be better...since i know about 5-6 of my other friends will be coming out with their cars, and hopefully others from each of the forums.

I guess the outcome wasnt that bad for a first meet. The quality of all the cars was great. All clean cars, no rice. Next week we will be moving the location, somewhere a little closer to the freeway. Hopefully next week more of you will cruise out!

I was so excited to see the "Albertsons in Irvine" Location......then you moved it to Placentia.....

 

i haven't been in placenta for 26 years

 

that albertsons hasnt been going on for like a year. too many complaints and the cops started rollin out everytime and eventually people stopped coming out.

how did you calculate that? why 26!
